Trade fair duo Food Africa and pacprocess MEA brings more than 700 exhibitors to the start in Cairo
Wednesday 30. November 2022 - Great anticipation for Food Africa and pacprocess MEA: in December, the interpack alliance will once again bring the food and packaging industries together in Egypt. Participants can expect new business opportunities, a hosted buyers programme and numerous specials
From 5 to 7 December 2022, the exhibition centre in Cairo will be dedicated to innovative solutions for the food industry and Processing & Packaging with all its facets. Food Africa is the largest trade fair on the continent for the food and agricultural industry and creates access to the growing African market for food. For exporters seeking new sales opportunities, the fair therefore offers an unparalleled trading and sourcing platform. With “Ingredients Africa”, “Fresh Africa”, “Dates Africa” and “Sea Food Africa”, the fair is also creating further specialised platforms in the areas of ingredients and additives, fresh produce, dates and seafood this year.
With its range of products in the Processing & Packaging segment, pacprocess MEA, which takes place at the same time, is the ideal complement, especially for the food sector. But other user industries will also get a good overview of local, regional and international suppliers of packaging machinery along the entire production process, as well as packaging materials and the corresponding production technology.
A total of 750 exhibitors from 31 countries will occupy around 30,000 m² at Food Africa and pacprocess MEA. The trade fair duo is thus on course for growth.
Access to the potential of the MEA region
As the gateway to the African world, Egypt plays a key role in the MEA region and offers ideal conditions for exchanges with a qualified trade audience, which is expected to come to Cairo primarily from North Africa and the Middle East.
“All signs continue to point to stable and sustainable investments in new plants and technologies in the region in the future,” says Thomas Dohse, Director of the interpack Processing & Packaging portfolio. “Anyone who wants to be part of these enormous development opportunities will have the perfect opportunity for personal exchange in Cairo. Together with our partners, we have also further strengthened pacprocess MEA and Food Africa this year.” Both trade fairs are part of the interpack alliance. Here, as with pacprocess MEA, Messe Düsseldorf works together with the local organisers IFP Egypt and Konzept.
Country pavilions with international key players
International suppliers to the region’s industry will present themselves in a total of 14 country pavilions. For example, there are joint stands from Italy, India, Poland, Brazil, Turkey, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
In the two “German Pavilions” at Food Africa and pacprocess MEA, companies from Germany will provide an insight into their innovations and solutions as part of the German government’s participation. The support provided by the Federal Ministries of Food and Agriculture and of Economic Affairs and Climate Protection underlines the importance of this market for Germany.
Hosted Buyers Programme
The Hosted Buyers and Matchmaking Programme, which will be offered at both fairs this year, supports exhibitors in networking with trade buyers and decision-makers from many African and MENA countries. In this way, new trade relations are promoted in a targeted manner. More than 500 participants have already registered.
Food Africa & pacprocess MEA Conference
The conference accompanying the fair offers exciting insights into market developments, new technologies and trends. Topics include Egypt’s national strategy for the food sector until 2030, digital transformation, innovations in food and food packaging, and sustainability in the packaging industry. In addition, the launch of Egypt’s strategy for the date sector is expected at the conference.
Also on the agenda at the fair are donor programmes in favour of the transformation to a “green economy”, which includes, for example, support for projects in the fields of waste management, solar energy, water treatment and agricultural technology. Among others, UNIDO, United Nations Industrial Development Organization, USAID, United States Agency for International Development Cooperation and GIZ, Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit are involved.
