ROTOCON reports resounding success from the 2022 edition of Propak Africa that took place on March 8-11 in Johannesburg. Over 200 show visitors stopped by ROTOCONs stand to learn about the entire gamut of production technology represented by ROTOCON from prepress to printing, via digital and analogue technologies, to all manner of ancillary and finishing systems.
Featured were live demonstrations of ROTOCONs ECOLINE machines including the RSH for label inspection, slitting, and rewinding; the RDF 340 digital printed label converting and finishing machine; and a module from the RFP flexo printing press. Also presented from the ECOLINE portfolio was the Pro Mount plate mounter and the Pro Clean anilox roller cleaner.
Breaking news on day one of the show was ROTOCONs appointment as the exclusive EyeC distribution partner in South Africa for their range of innovative artwork and print inspection systems. Ralph Beier, sales director at EyeC attended the event and provided live demonstrations of the EyeC ProofRunner Web in-line inspection system on the ECOLINE RSH slitter rewinder.
Other ROTOCON partners on the stand were Roger Meierhofer, Area Sales Manager from Pantec GS Systems presenting how the RHINO X brings high quality embellishment and cost-efficient brand protection to the flexible packaging industry; and Kevin Naidu representing the range of DuPont Cyrel solutions available through ROTOCON.
Sponsors contributing to ROTOCONs machine demos at Propak Africa include self-adhesive label stock from Morgancoat; labels printed on a Screen Truepress Jet L350UV provided by VR Print; a UV curing system from UV Ray; flexible dies from Wink Stanzwerkzeuge; and cores from Mzansi.
On-site media interviews organized by Banie Stafford of B Creative took place on the ROTOCON stand with editors from PPM and WineLand Magazine. John Lomberg, ROTOCON Market and Business Development Director was interviewed by Propak Africa show organizers and gave a live interview on Radio Jacaranda along with Oscar Mashele, ROTOCON Service Technician.
Several orders were received by ROTOCON at Propak Africa. A four-piece equipment sale was confirmed with a customer in Durban for an ECOLINE RSH 340 with dual rewind and film package; an ECOLINE RSH 340 with a turret rewinder; an E&L SMARTSCAN inspection system; and an ECOLINE Pro-wash 430 wide plate washer.
