Zünd shows digital cutting on an industrial level at Fachpack 21

Friday 01. October 2021 - With its versatile automation solutions, Zünd offers numerous possibilities for sustainably increasing economic efficiency. The range extends from fully automatic tool changers to collaborative robot systems and integrated production lines for fully automated material transport.

At the Zünd stand this year, everything revolves around the efficient cutting of a wide range of packaging materials, from solid and corrugated cardboard to wood-based materials such as MDF boards. Zünd will be demonstrating how digital cutting with maximum process reliability works in practice using the example of a fully automated material transport system.
Zünd (in Hall 7A, Stand 444) will be demonstrating how corrugated board or MDF can be processed with semi-automated material feed using a G3 cutter with panel feed via BHS feeder. The cutter is also equipped with an ARC automatic cutter changer, which offers space for up to eight cutters. The operator always has an overview of his tools, can reduce the time required for changeovers to a minimum and thus use the cutter even more efficiently.
Packaging manufacturers are under permanent time and margin pressure. Zünd’s modular cutting and material transport solutions cover their individual requirements in terms of automation level and help them to make digital finishing even more efficient and profitable. For example, with collaborative robot technology. Zünd demonstrates how this can be used sensibly with a robot arm from Universal Robots. It picks up the finished cut parts from a Zünd S3 cutter and places them in predefined positions. The automatic material feed is handled here by a sheet feeder that can feed sheets with a maximum thickness of 5 mm at a maximum stack height of 20 cm.
In addition to its comprehensive portfolio of cutters and systems for material transport, Zünd now offers a considerable range of software for a wide variety of applications. For example, PrimeCenter, the control centre for generating print and cut data, will be presented to the trade audience. A premiere is the presentation of Zünd Connect. The web-based monitoring tool records the key performance and availability figures of the integrated cutters and uses them to calculate the overall equipment effectiveness (OEE). Zünd Connect helps to detect losses in effectiveness. This provides the user with important indicators that help him to further optimise his cutting. For live demonstrations of these software solutions, trade fair visitors can contact the stand personnel directly.
