Universal cooling solution: technotrans launches modular ECOtec.chiller on the market
Thursday 01. April 2021 - From the printing industry to plastics processing, medical technology and laser applications: With the new ECOtec.chiller, technotrans SE is launching a fully modular cooling unit for use in almost all industrial sectors and applications.
Thanks to comprehensive modularisation of the central components, customer-specific solutions can be implemented much more quickly. The new solution is characterised by constant power density, high energy efficiency and a low CO2 footprint. Users save up to 30 percent of energy costs – in addition, the required use of refrigerants is reduced by up to 60 percent. The ECOtec.chiller, which can be used across all industries, is available as a standard product and as an individual version. The cooling capacity ranges from 1.5 KW to 370 KW.
The technotrans Group’s cooling solutions are used worldwide in a wide variety of industries – and the range of applications is correspondingly broad. “Every industry and every customer has its own unique requirements. With our cross-industry ECOtec.chiller, we have now developed a cooling system that can be adapted to even the most demanding requirements thanks to its modularity,” explains Peter Böcker, Sales Manager at technotrans. Because the basic requirements are the same across all sectors: “Users want reliable, precise and energy-efficient technology – and that’s exactly what the ECOtec.chiller offers.”
With the new cooling solution, technotrans is pooling its many years of technological expertise from established core industries and creating a universal system for opening up numerous new areas of application. “The new ECOtec.chiller is the best of all worlds,” says Böcker.
A cooling system based on the modular principle
The modularity of the ECOtec.chiller offers the greatest possible degree of flexibility: different sizes and capacities ranging from 1.5 to 370 KW, different pump capacities, tank sizes and connection voltages, as well as adaptations to diverse climatic conditions are possible. Thanks to standardisation, customers benefit from short delivery times and high availability of the units. “Time is an important factor for us and our customers. That’s why we have to be able to deliver just-in-time more and more often,” Böcker emphasises. The system control of the chiller is also modular. Here technotrans relies on an adaptive operating concept in the form of a user-friendly and intuitive interface and large multi-touch displays.
In addition to modularity, efficiency and sustainability play a decisive role in the ECOtec.chiller: despite consistently high power density, the CO2 footprint of the unit is low and operation is resource-efficient. This is ensured, among other things, by power-regulated components and drives that reduce energy costs. The use of an integrated microchannel condenser also reduces the amount of refrigerant required by up to 60 percent.
Standard can be so individual
The ECOtec.chiller is available in two series: “pure” is the compact standard line, while “xtend” can be individually adapted to the customer’s requirements through numerous equipment options. At the same time, xtend is particularly energy-efficient thanks to inverter technology for pumps, compressors and fans: users save up to 30 percent of their energy costs compared to conventional units. In addition, the xtend variant meets the requirements of the Ecodesign Directive as well as all relevant EU regulations.
Both series are stand-alone systems that were extensively tested in various process environments prior to their series launch – the results convinced both users and technotrans. The cross-industry and cross-company approach of the new cooling solution is also reflected in the manufacturing process. technotrans produces the ECOtec.chiller at a total of three locations within the group: Meinerzhagen, Baden-Baden and Bad Doberan. This speeds up production and delivery times. “Our group companies offer the optimum conditions and expertise for manufacturing our new ECOtec.chiller,” explains Böcker. The market launch of the modular chiller will take place on 1 April 2021.
