Canon Labelstream Fogra certified

Friday 07. August 2020 - Canon and the Fogra Research Institute for Media Technology are proud to announce that the LabelStream 4000 series is the first digital press whose 6-colour (W + CMYK + O) printing system has been certified according to the Fogra PSD Print Check specifications. The certification confirms colour and run accuracy as well as a visual inspection for homogeneity and sharpness of detail.

The LabelStream 4000 series uses the industrially proven and durable Xaar 2001+ UV inkjet printheads, which offer high pigmentation and high ink application for a gigantic colour gamut. With 96% colour gamut coverage on a Delta E 2000 of less than 2, LabelStream delivers high-quality labels with matched brand colours and consistent output at full production speed on standard label stock.
The evaluation showed that the colour gamut, uniformity and colour consistency of LabelStream achieved Level A (highest score) print output according to the Fogra ProcessStandard Digital (PSD) Print Check (based on ISO/TS 15311-2). The Fogra PSD Print Check certifies the following: Colour accuracy, colour consistency over a run of 500 copies and homogeneity, resolution, artefacts in the form of a visual inspection. The color gamut of the LabelStream exceeds that of many 7-color digital label presses available on the market today.
