Roland DG Announces New LV Series Laser Engravers for Profitable New Business Opportunities
Tuesday 24. September 2019 - Roland DG Corporation, a leading manufacturer of wide-format inkjet printers and printercutters worldwide, today announced the launch in the EMEA region and India of the LV series laser engravers: the 29 (736 mm) LV-290 and 18 (457 mm) LV-180.
Expanding Roland DGs already extensive product portfolio, the new, compact and user-friendly LV series uses a non-contact CO2 laser to engrave complex shapes and text with crisp edges at high speed out of plastics, wood, leather, paper, cork and much more, to deliver impressive results.
Unlike conventional digital engravers, cut surfaces have a smooth, clean finish without burrs, eliminating the need for any final touch-up work. With no engraving cutters to break or wear out, the laser maintains a stunning, accurate finish with no degradation in quality.
Users can also boost their profit-making potential by combining an LV engraving machine with a Roland print device, such as the new VersaUV LEF2-300, which also launches in EMEA today. This unique combination of precision cutting and engraving technology with vivid, lifelike, customised prints delivers the versatility to offer end-customers something truly special. “By combining the LV series capabilities with our LEF/LEF2 series UV benchtop flatbed printers featuring exceptional print capabilities, it is possible to create premium value items which cannot be accomplished by each product alone. This unique fusion of different capabilities opens up profitable new business possibilities.” said Kohei Tanabe, President of Roland DG’s Digital Printing Business Division.
Combining the LV series capabilities with those of the LEF/LEF2 series printers enables the creation of premium value items, such as custom giftware, personalised awards, or acrylic displays with attractive graphics. Jigs for items to be UV-printed can also be easily created by cutting out resin shapes for the required number of items. The LV-290 is standard equipped with a CCD camera that supports positioning the material to accurately contour cut UV-printed graphics.
Tanabe continues, “In Japan, acrylic character stands and accessories made by cutting out resin sheets printed with illustrations into unique shapes are highly popular, and our UV flatbed printers are widely used in creating those applications. By introducing this solution to our customers around the world, we hope our customers will create new value and excitement through unleashing their creative possibilities and transforming their imaginations into reality.”
With the LV series, even beginners can start performing high-precision laser engraving immediately, and with a choice of models, users can select the device that best suits their production requirements and thickness and size of the materials they wish to work with. The LV-180 offers compact, intuitive operation and is ideal for business start-ups and retailers looking to add value to existing product lines via back room fulfilment of click
and collect orders and online sales. The LV-290 delivers enhanced engraving, cutting and production capabilities, perfect for sign makers and print service providers looking to expand their portfolio, and low/mid-volume manufacturers looking to increase production efficiency.
