Friday 05. October 2018 - Koenig & Bauer Report No. 53 is out now. The latest issue of the Groups customer magazine contains a wealth of news from the printing industry. The 56-page magazine is packed with articles on market developments and information on new processes and products in sheetfed and web offset, postpress, flexo printing and special applications. Koenig & Bauer also reports on its award series, the implementation of the new brand and the anniversary of the companys own vocational school.
After a successful start to the year, Koenig & Bauer was able to report an order backlog of over 800m. In his editorial, president and CEO Claus Bolza-Schünemann refers to major orders in the security press segment, in folding carton production and in coding and flexible packaging printing. Koenig & Bauer will deliver the first system for the growing corrugated board market at the beginning of 2019. The installation of CS MetalCAN, a new product for high-quality can printing, is scheduled for the end of 2018.
The implementation of the new brand identity has progressed to a decisive stage in recent months. The Groups subsidiaries, sales and service companies were renamed under the umbrella brand. The name Koenig & Bauer, which reflects on the companys long tradition and the names of its two founders, is now to be established worldwide, says Bolza-Schünemann.
The summer of 2018 marked the 150th anniversary of the founding of the company’s own vocational school at the Würzburg headquarters. Koenig & Bauer Report takes a look at the anniversary celebrations and the long history of the world’s oldest vocational school. It has reliably provided young people with high-quality qualifications since 1868 and underlines the social responsibility of the printing press manufacturer over 150 years.
