Digital Etikett AS deploys HP Indigo 20000 Digital Press to Double Output and Turnover

Monday 01. October 2018 - HP reaches 1000th active label press in Europe

Norwegian labelling and packaging specialist Digital Etikett AS has installed a new HP Indigo 20000 digital press to allow the company to double its output and diversify its service offering, with the aim to double their turnover within five years. This also represents a significant milestone for HP as it is the 1000th active label press in Europe.
Formed in 2008 from humble beginnings, Digital Etikett AS invested in its first HP printer at the company’s inception; a Series 2 4500. Since then, the company has been loyal to the HP brand and to Visutech, a supplier of digital solutions for the graphic industry; finding significant ROI in working with Series 3 and, now, Series 4 devices. The company provides a variety of labelling solutions for a host of household Norwegian brands. With the new Indigo 20000 technology, Digital Etikett AS is planning to diversify its labelling offering and move into new packaging markets such as flex pack and film.
With demand for digital printing services increasing by 43 per cent between 2013 and 2018, the company has been keen to stay ahead of growing customer demand and technological innovation. As its customers are growing and their needs changing, Digital Etikett AS is investing heavily to stay current; selecting next generation technology that will not only meet evolving requirements but allow the company to bid for the largest contracts and develop new product lines.
The HP Indigo 20000 opens a realm of possibilities for both printers and flexible packaging converters by enabling them to efficiently and profitably cope with changing market demands for shorter runs, more varied SKUs, and customized campaigns. HP Indigo is the only digital color printing process that matches gravure quality and is safe for primary food packaging.
Since deploying the HP Indigo 20000 digital press, the company’s output has doubled. As a result, the company’s founder and managing director, Kjetil Hovland, expects to see revenues doubling in the next five years.
Hovland comments, “Our future success depends on us being able to become more agile, handle bigger jobs faster and more efficiently, and diversify our offering rapidly. HP technology is helping us to do this. After visiting another HP customer site in Denmark and Sweden we decided to go for HP Indigo technology and ABG – we have never regretted it. From a position of zero to a 4 million euro turnover, this is a great success story.”
