Simei 2017 to be held in Bavaria for the first time
Monday 03. July 2017 - Sacmi takes up the challenge together with Defranceschi
A great opportunity for the Group to promote its comprehensive product range for the wine industry. Taking centre-stage will be the new Defranceschi membrane presses, alongside the ever-more popular KUBE labellers and other quality control solutions
For the first time in its history, Simei, the international wine-making machine and bottling fair, is moving to Munich where it will take place from 11th to 15th September 2017, in parallel with Drinktec. This is a major event for Sacmi, one with a true international flavour that gives us an opportunity to present our complete technological and plant engineering range for the wine industry [HALL C3.209].
That range now includes the closed and open membrane press series, the jewel in the crown of the “new” Defranceschi (a long-standing Italian manufacturer of wine-making solutions), taken over by Sacmi last year. The presses in the new JP series – at Simei 2017 we’ll be displaying the Defranceschi JP 50 model – are characterised by an innovative drive system that allows fully ultra-clean process management and requires zero maintenance.
“We took up this challenge”, explains Vezio Bernardi, general manager of Sacmi Beverage, “by deciding to attend two strategically important events simultaneously: the world-renowned Drinktec, where we’ll be showcasing our complete cap, preform, bottle and labelling lines, and Simei – now more international than ever – where we’ll have a golden opportunity to show the market the new generation of Defranceschi membrane presses, which provide excellent technology and cutting-edge design. All as part of a complete, integrated range for the wine sector that includes Sacmi’s outstanding labelling, quality control and Bag-In-Box filling solutions, installed and appreciated worldwide”.
More specifically, in addition to the Defranceschi press, visitors will have the chance to see one of the new labellers from the KUBE range (manufactured by Sacmi Verona). In just three years the latter has won us over a hundred customers worldwide, including some of the most prestigious wineries in Italy and, indeed, the world. The KUBE displayed at the fair – a latest-generation rotary machine – is equipped with various docking stations; this particular version, with its non-stop reel changeover system, can handle up to 12,000 self-adhesive wine bottle applications an hour. Downstream from the new KUBE, Sacmi is displaying LABEL-CHECK 360, the new labelling quality control vision system specially designed by Sacmi for the wine market.
Capable of executing extremely detailed in-line label inspection (presence, alignment, yet also small creases or tears, slight colour variations, barcode reading etc.), the Sacmi vision system features high resolution video cameras (up to 5 MP) and SACMI CVS 3000 2.2 64 bit inspection software, which provides valuable real-time information on how the labeller – and the entire line – is performing. The Sacmi-designed automatic LABEL-CHECK 360 vision system applies innovative 3D technology, allowing perfect reconstruction and analysis of the perimeter of incorrectly positioned bottles and containers, whatever their shape. Modern image capture devices and latest-generation software mean that 2D images obtained from the original 3D scans are free from any potential optical and/or perspective distortion.
Last but not least come Sacmi’s Bag-In-Box solutions. These recently won over two top ten US companies in the sector, confirming the outstanding reliability, versatility and quality of this range (LINEAR ultra-clean), ideal for the export of large amounts of wine at a competitive cost and with absolute guarantees as regards the product’s organoleptic qualities.
As Vezio Bernardi explains, it’s thanks to this complete set of integrated technological solutions that Defranceschi can head to Simei 2017 confidently “with an excellent standing in terms of both market positioning and prospects”. Munich, in fact, offers a great opportunity “to pursue, with renewed vigour, the goal we set ourselves in 2016, when Defranceschi was acquired: to provide customers with a turnkey winery with cutting-edge technology and design. Hence our focus on being the perfect partner-provider of comprehensive solutions, from vine to bottle… not to mention proposals from world-famous archistars for the construction of true 21st century wineries: places not just where quality wines are produced but places to be experienced, places steeped in history that are, above all, built around conscientious attention to excellence and detail”.
