Experts from Trelleborg Present Printing Solutions at China Print 2017

Trelleborgs printing solutions operation has strengthened its operation in China with the appointment of Livio Maccan as Plant Director of its manufacturing facility in Shanghai. His connection to the Vulcan brand began when he worked for Reeves, the company acquired by Trelleborg that formed part of its printing solutions operation. He has since held several senior technical and managerial roles at Trelleborg factories around the world and will be involved in the companys presence at the forthcoming Print China 2017 exhibition.
Maccan says: “China Print is a hugely important event for the printing industry and there will be key personnel on the Trelleborg booth from both China and our headquarters for printing solutions in Italy. Customers will be able to speak to experts about our Vulcan, Rollin and Printec brands and learn about the huge importance we place on sustainability and innovation.
“Trelleborg offers the widest range of offset blankets in China and we expect there to be particular interest in our industry-leading solutions for UV printing, which include the latest energy-saving UV technologies. In Asia Pacific, our new Vulcan blankets range for UV inks is attracting significant praise for its ability to provide good ink release, with no back-tracking even in highly demanding situations.”
Trelleborg has invested significantly in its Shanghai manufacturing facility, which is the first offset blanket manufacturing facility in China to fully implement a solvent recovery system. This is part of a corporate philosophy to reduce the use of chemicals and have as little impact on the environment as possible. The site has been awarded ISO 14000 and meets the same high standards as Trelleborgs European offset blanket production sites. The sophisticated converting equipment installed in Shanghai makes it the most reliable and accurate blanket converter in China, with the ability to customize solutions to meet individual requirements.
Philip Huang, Sales and Marketing Manager for China, says: “Though some specialist products are imported from Trelleborg sites in Italy and the U.S., including some blankets for the newspaper and packaging sectors, the Shanghai facility is meeting the majority of the needs of its domestic market. In fact, we are now exporting blankets to Europe and America as well. By working closely with our large R&D department in Italy, plus Trelleborg facilities in other countries, we can combine the advantages of a global approach with local reach.”
