Tamar Packaging Solutions purchase Edale FL5 for carton

Thursday 16. March 2017 - UK packaging company Tamar have invested in a 7 colour FL5-510 Carton with combination drying.

Based in Devon in a purpose-built BRC facility, Tamar produces numerous forms of packaging solutions including direct food contact cartons.
Tamar has been a valued Edale customer for many years and has now invested in an FL5-510 for cartons. Tamar were keen to add another Edale machine to their direct food contact packaging facility and the FL5’s primary function will be to cater for the company’s core business of converting carton board for the FMCG market, as well as producing self-erect cartons for many different sectors of the food market.
The FL5 will provide Tamar with much quicker set ups, wider web width and faster running speeds while reducing waste and boosting productivity.
The Edale FL5 is a highly versatile packaging printing machine that can be specified for the production of cartons, scratch cards and flexible packaging; it has a wide substrate range of 12-600 microns to suit many applications.
The FL5 also comes with AiiR features as standard*. AiiR (autonomous inking, impression and print registration) uses precision camera technology to improve registration accuracy, while automated print pressure control reduces wastage and set-up times. By fully automating print and the registration processes, the level of operator intervention can be reduced, leading to fewer errors and a more consistent, higher quality final product.
Paul Baker, Technical Operations Manager for Tamar commented;
“The 7 colour FL5 gives us the flexibility to venture into new areas of the packaging world so we are able to offer our existing customers the opportunities to enhance their products further.”
James Boughton, MD for Edale, said;
“We are delighted that Tamar has chosen to invest in another Edale press. It’s always very positive when a customer returns to us as it’s a clear indicator that our new technology is meeting the demands of the current market.”
Mr Baker also stated:
“I am always impressed with the Edale customer service team and the feedback I receive on technical questions. Edale have come on a long way and the presses they manufacture in recent years are up there with the best of them.”
