Five Castles Press looks forward to new B2 press in September

Monday 31. August 2015 - Continuing its policy of replacing presses every five years, Five Castles Press will take delivery of a five unit Speedmaster XL 75 next month.

“We want up to date, fast, efficient presses so that we get the right yield. The Euro-£ exchange was right and the resale value was good so it was the moment to update our press line up,” says Rob Burnett, managing director.
“This is a like for like press swap but any investment in new kit shows the company is progressive and in for the long haul and that keeps staff positive.”
It has sold its outgoing press through Print & Graphic Machinery in Bourne End.
The new press will produce a wide range of commercial print, from envelopes to case bound books, primarily in short or medium runs. It handles gallery and football club work, work from the local area (it is based in Ipswich) and further afield, through agencies and direct.
“The Speedmasters we have run, both CDs and XLs, have been really good. The output is second to none. I truly believe the Speedmaster XL 75 is the best B2 press on the market,” says Mr Burnett.
The press will run Continental shifts from the start and will run alongside another Speedmaster XL 75-5 and a Speedmaster SM 52-5H, giving it the scope for specials or seals across all formats.
The company prides itself on its quality and service and has a clear environmental policy which includes the use of sustainable papers and chemistry free plates.
The energy efficiency of the Speedmaster XL 75 is well known and it is operator friendly with the Prinect Press Center and Intellistart process-based guidance system. It can print sheets of up to 530 x 750mm and stock thicknesses of 0.03mm to 0.8mm.
