Augmented Reality used by Disney Infinity 3.0 Edition
Wednesday 12. August 2015 - Disney Infinity 3.0 Edition, the action-adventure sandbox "toys to life" video game published by Disney Interactive Studios, incorporates physical toys, open world creation and story-driven video gaming capability. Since its launch two years ago it has evolved in a number of exciting ways and recently the latest instalment launched in Los Angeles at E3, the expo for all the hottest new gadgets and games.
Disney Infinity 3.0 Edition now welcomes Star Wars now joins the ever-growing collection of properties across the Walt Disney company. New heroes can join forces with characters from previous editions and embark on epic adventures, as limitless as your imagination, in the Toy Box!
We worked with the Disney Infinity team to create an augmented reality experience for fans to enjoy at E3 and in San Diego during Comic-Con. They were able to choose a favourite character to have a ‘meet and greet’ with giving them an opportunity to experience and engage with them on a whole new, and truly immersive, level. The interaction was digitally captured and was then sent back to the user for them to share with their friends on social media.
At both the E3 expo and in San Diego during Comic-Con, it was one of the stand-out attractions with people queuing for their chance to play and interact with some of their favourites- from Elsa to Darth Vader, it was all possible but #OnlyInTheToyBox.
Ben Putland, Managing Director, Grand Visual New York said:
“Working with a great project team in a truly collaborative way, lead to an excellent, memorable experience for fans and others to enjoy at E3 and in San Diego during Comic-Con. We were all delighted that it was so well received across both events.”
