Continued momentum for HP Indigo 10000
Nearly 200 units of the HP Indigo 10000 Digital Press have been installed at customer sites in 32 countries worldwide. Customers’ average print volumes have more than doubled year on year, and over 20 customers have added multiple units.
“Taking the first HP Indigo 10000 in Ireland, the press’ B2 plus platform keeps us ahead of the curve and allows us to go beyond digital quantities and compete within the litho market,” said Mal McGowan, owner, McGowans. “We can now offer our customers the same quality, media range, and volume for all their activities with all the advantages and flexibility of digital.”
The latest enhancements to the press include advancements in colour uniformity, productivity and usability. The HP Indigo 10000 also features an expanded application range enabled by additional inks, including HP Indigo ElectroInk white.
HP Indigo 7800 and WS6800 enhancements take productivity and application versatility to the next level
The new capabilities of the HP Indigo 7800 Digital Press are being showcased in Europe today, for the first time. New intelligent colour management capabilities make it easy to reproduce colour job after job and across sites. The Indigo 7800 now supports printing on canvas in addition to synthetic substrates and lenticular applications using One Shot Color technology, and offers added differentiation with the new Fluorescent Pink ElectroInk.
Smart Scheduling boosts productivity up to 50 per cent per shift(2) by facilitating and optimizing the management of the job queue and allowing seamless proofing while printing. The HP SmartStream Production Pro Print Server 5.1 brings a 30 per cent higher RIP time to continue supporting complex jobs.
The HP Indigo WS6800 Digital Press continues to enhance the productivity of narrow label converters with easy colour management that cuts setup time. It now also offers a Michelman DP680 Primer for added versatility and lowers primer-related costs.
“Maintaining colour consistency and ensuring the right colour matching is critical to meet the needs of our customers and our production timeline,” says Iban Cid, president, Germark. “We have been leveraging the new colour capabilities based on the inline spectrophotometer of our HP Indigo WS6800 for the past 12 months and can see a definite boost in productivity with faster colour matching and consistent colour in the same run.”
New environmental advancements for the HP Indigo 7800 and WS6800 Digital Presses minimize the need for additional imaging oil. Existing HP Indigo 7500, 7600 and WS6600 Digital Press customers can now upgrade to receive these new features of the 7800 and WS6800 presses.
HP Indigo customers drive packaging industry transformation
At Dscoop EMEA, HP announced that market-leading flexible packaging provider UNI Packaging has installed a second HP Indigo 20000 and is planning a third press to be installed later this year. This investment is part of a long-term plan to boost production capabilities for this fast-growing segment over the next 4-5 years.
“Quality output and high-performance technology are critical factors that drive the success of our business and the value we bring to our customers,” said Franck Caresmel, group business development, UNI Packaging. “We are excited by the business opportunities that we are able to pursue with the HP Indigo 20000, and look forward to advancing our role in the flexible packaging digital revolution.”
Building on its proven ability to print on flexible packaging and pressure-sensitive label stocks, the HP Indigo 20000 Digital Press will be highlighting a wide application range, producing shrink sleeves and wrap-around labels.
In addition, the HP Indigo 30000 Digital Press now prints on metalized media. At the Dscoop EMEA conference, the press will be demonstrating a single pass double varnishing solution with the TRESU iCoat 30000 Twin.
