Handelsblatt Global Edition Commercial Launch With Special Free Anniversary Issue
Tuesday 10. February 2015 - To mark its successful commercial launch, Handelsblatt, Germany's leading news publisher, is distributing a free, special anniversary of Handelsblatt Global Edition, Germany's exciting new English-language global financial newspaper, to readers in Europe and around the world.
Handelsblatt Global Edition was launched on September 1, 2014. The newspaper presents the work of 350 of Germany’s best journalists from Handelsblatt, WirtschaftsWoche, Die Zeit and Tagesspiegel, all publications owned by the Dieter von Holtzbrinck Media Group.
The 111th issue of Handelsblatt Global Edition includes exclusives on “The New French Connection”, Germany’s evolving relationship with key European partner France, “Broken Banks and Big Bailouts”, a look at Germany’s universal banking system under fire, and “German Consumers Learn to Live Large”, which examines how thrifty Germans are learning to shell it out in times of zero interest rates.
“Handelsblatt Global Edition has redefined English-language coverage of German business news and politics,” said Gabor Steingart, the publisher of Handelsblatt Publishing Group, a former U.S. correspondent and Berlin bureau chief for Der Spiegel and best-selling author. “Germany is one of the world’s largest economies. We’re looking to export our unique German perspective on the global economy to readers around the world.”
Handelsblatt Global Edition is published each week day at noon in Berlin – 6 a.m. on Wall Street — by a staff of 20 multilingual journalists.
Zsuzsa Breier, the managing director of Handelsblatt Global Edition, said readers have responded positively to insights offered by the newspaper.
“Handelsblatt is Germany’s leading business newspaper,” Ms. Breier said. “With the Handelsblatt Global Edition, we are able to better internationalize German business and deepen the understanding of foreign investors in Germany.”
