Screen shows high-speed variable data inkjet printing with Truepress Jet520 at Kern Open House
Wednesday 27. August 2014 - Screen will highlight the on-demand, variable data capabilities of the Truepress Jet520 inkjet web press at the inaugural Kern Open House (8th-11th September, Munsingen, Switzerland).
Screen will be one of more than 20 partner companies at the event demonstrating products that complement Kern’s extensive portfolio of mailroom hardware and software solutions for inserting, pre- and post-processing.
The Screen Truepress Jet520 is the world’s most successful high-speed, variable data inkjet web press, a truly innovative mono and full-colour device designed to meet demand for quality, high-speed, on-demand production of transpromotional print, direct mail, newspapers, magazines and books. With a maximum web-width of 520mm, the Truepress Jet520 prints onto a wide variety of standard/uncoated papers, including general-purpose and recycled stocks, at up to 220 m/min. In addition, the 720 x 720 dpi resolution the highest of any single-pass inkjet system makes the press perfect for work demanding the highest quality.
At the Kern Open House Screen will demonstrate the Truepress Jet520 with the EQUIOS universal workflow, the popular Kern 100 unwinder, the Kern 110 rewinder and Kern 135 DataTracker powered by Axode camera system. Featuring the Adobe PDF Print Engine at its core, EQUIOS provides integrated job management and consistent colour management across multiple output devices, and also enables automated communication with third-party input and finishing devices via EQUIOS JDF. The Kern 135 DataTracker is installed at the output end of the Truepress Jet520 and checks each print in real time for nonconformance, stopping the press when necessary. Easy to implement and operate, the Kern 135 DataTracker ensures variable data output is complete and error-free.
The Open House is the first such event held by Kern and is intended to become the first of a regular series of international forums where delegates from the printing and publishing sectors can meet and consult with industry experts in automated mailing and packaging technology.
