Prestige makes its digital debut with Heidelberg

Wednesday 21. May 2014 - Prestige Sheldon in Birmingham has made its debut in digital printing with the installation of a Linoprint C751 press from Heidelberg.

“The digital market is increasing and we are missing out,” says Paul Massam, owner. “There are not many digital presses that are able to produce quality like this and it gives us the opportunity to provide short run and personalised work to businesses in the West Midlands.”
The company has specified the personalisation software and an envelope feeder on the Linoprint C751, a press that was selected only after a wider look at the supplier market.
“We liked the quality of work the Linoprint could produce, its flexibility and we had confidence in Heidelberg as our supplier. It is a strong brand,” says Mr Massam.
The company already runs two Heidelberg offset presses, a Speedmaster SM 52-5, a Printmaster PM52-5, as well as using a Suprasetter A 75 CtP device, a Polar 92 and a Stahlfolder Ti52. It has in-house booklet-making, stitching and cutting and creasing which means comprehensive offline finishing for the digital as well as the litho work.
The breakpoint between offset and digital runs will depend on the specific job but Mr Massam says that quality is of paramount importance and the C751 gives us litho quality at digital pricing and turnaround.
“Offset still has a strong future. This investment is additional capacity and not replacement for our existing technology,” says Mr Massam.
