3D Printing and Machine-to-Machine Technology
Tuesday 13. May 2014 - Conferences to delve into the latest challenges and opportunities for industry
3D printing is growing rapidly in its applications and materials, and it presents a broad array of possibilities for industry. Industrial machine to machine (M2M) has already taken hold in everyday life, and innovators are continually finding new ways to connect the machines that serve us. UBM Canon announces an outstanding line up of educational sessions on these and other leading edge topics at the advanced manufacturing events upcoming in Schaumberg, IL, October 15-16, 2014.
A day-long 3D printing conference will present case studies, innovations in materials, and the economics of the use of this technology. No longer used only for prototypes or patterns in industry, 3D printing is increasingly being used to manufacture parts and even finished products.
A full day conference on Industrial M2M, will investigate how this disruptive technology of machines communicating with one another is enabling greater flexibility, efficiency, and connectivity of information. It will also deal with how to tackle the challenges that arise, such as security.
On the medical side, the MD&M Chicago conference will cover the latest innovations in medical device design, as well as technical training for the medical device industry. New this year is a full day devoted to the “Connected Digital Health.”
Two full days of advanced manufacturing seminars will include:
Robotics strategieswith robots getting cheaper, this session will discuss implementing and integrating a robotics strategy, improving flexibility, and how to manage such issues as safety, maintenance, and programming.
Cost Effective Safety, with analytics in maintenance and lean manufacturing.
Design Innovation and Ideation in Manufacturing
These conferences and seminars, and more, will take place in conjunction with UBM Canon’s co-located trade events: ATX Midwest (formerly known as Assembly & Automation Technology Expo), Design & Manufacturing Midwest, MD&M Chicago (medical design & development), and PLASTEC Midwest. These events bring together thousands of industry professionals to make connections, establish work relationships, and showcase the latest in technology and materials.
