Hampton Printing adds a B2 facility to its B1 line up
Wednesday 07. May 2014 - Quality producer Hampton Printing is adding a B2 press to mop up the shorter runs required by some of its existing clients and to open up new opportunities. It has commissioned a highly specified Speedmaster XL 75-5+L, a five-colour press with coater.
“The reduction in some run lengths means that the B2 machine with quick make-ready and fast running speed is the natural choice for us to purchase,” says Chris Cooper.
The ability to cut downtime and waste and to optimise productivity comes with the specification of Inpress Control, the automatic colour and register adjustment system.
Hamptons was the first company to attain Heidelberg’s ISO 12647-2 colour certification and the first to renew it with further print tests assessed in Germany. Instant Gate, Colour Assistant Pro and InkStar will help the company retain its reputation for pinpoint accurate colour quality. A wall screen will give operators, and print buyers attending print passes, a chance to view graphically what is happening on the press.
“As an all Heidelberg house, it was only natural to continue investing with Heidelberg. This means continuity of production quality and efficiencies. Hampton’s are well known for their exceptional quality and have attained accolades in the form of printing awards, all achieved with Heidelberg equipment and technology,” says Mr Cooper.
“With the new B2 press we have continued to invest in a high specification to match our existing presses. Without the technology and tools you cannot ‘do the job’. The new press has already attracted new clients and it has encouraged existing clients to offer us B2 work.”
The focus of investment in the coming months will be its prepress area and, as always, the focus will be on effecting production savings and higher output.
