Two Muller Martini Ventura MC Book Sewing Machines

Tuesday 06. May 2014 - M+S Reliure relies on TWE¦?NMC for the Production of High-Quality Catalogs and Brochures

In the middle of this year M+S Reliure, which is based in Yvonand in the Swiss canton of Vaud, will commission two Muller Martini Ventura MC book sewing machines featuring the TWE¦?NMC option, making it the first graphic arts company in Switzerland to do so. The investment will enable it to provide its discerning customers with new product design options.
The company, which was established in 1918 and now has 30 employees, uses state-of-the-art equipment and is the first bookbindery in the Romandie to use the TWE¦?NMC book sewing innovation from Muller Martini. It enables even smaller folded signatures to be directly stitched in a book block using the Ventura MC book sewing machine.
The Ventura MC from Muller Martini is the first book sewing machine in the market that is capable of stitching products featuring signatures in different sizes and positions. In addition, modern servo technology makes it possible for the “tweens” to differ both in length and width and to be variably positioned in the book block.
Creativity, Quality and Efficiency
M+S Reliure, which specializes in exceptionally high-quality catalogs and brochures for the luxury goods industry, in particular the watches sector, is keen to impress its customers with its new product design options and produce its high-quality print products even more efficiently in the future. With that in mind, the company is replacing an Inventa book sewing machine from Muller Martini after many years of reliable service with two Ventura MC machines featuring the TWE¦?NMC option to meet a substantial increase in its volume of jobs.
In addition to TWE¦?NMC, David Lude, Director of M+S Reliure, is also impressed by the quality checks on the Ventura MC, since product quality is of prime importance on the luxury goods market. The automatic signature image recognition Asir 3 control system checks the correct sequence and opening of the signatures using a patented barcode recognition camera attached to the auxiliary saddle. The Ventura MC is highly efficient as it can stitch without the need for a blind stitch. The book blocks produced using this method have short thread ends, which is advantageous for the finishing process, especially in softcover. Thanks to the heat sealed thread loop, the deep stitched book blocks from the Ventura keep their compact form.
New Technology Powering Innovation
As a member of the SFF Arts Graphiques SA family foundation, M+S Reliure is keen to maintain its innovative strength and integrate new technologies into its production line for printed materials. With the two new Ventura MC book sewing machines featuring the TWE¦?NMC option, M + S Reliure is doing just that, allowing it to provide its existing and new potential customers with further creative product design options. New product ideas arise from the possibility of stitching in signatures with different fold types, such as a double-parallel fold or a gatefold.
