Gannett Names Andy Yost Senior Vice President of Consumer Sales and Marketing

Thursday 17. April 2014 - Gannett Co., Inc. (NYSE: GCI) announced today Andy Yost has been named senior vice president of consumer sales and marketing. Yost comes to Gannett from Viacom Media Networks where he served as senior vice president, marketing, customer relationship management, responsible for the strategic development and execution of digitally based, direct-to-consumer marketing programs.

In his new role, Yost will serve as Gannett’s senior expert in consumer marketing. Yost will lead consumer marketing efforts that will include subscription acquisition and retention across Gannett’s publishing operations and will continually enhance the company’s approach to providing premium value to customers. Yost will report directly to Bob Dickey, U.S. Community Publishing president.
“As Gannett builds a best-of-class consumer marketing team, Andy’s leadership and premium brand experience will be essential as we seek to create customer-driven marketing programs that increase the value provided to current and future customers,” said Dickey.
Prior to joining Viacom, Yost was vice president, strategic segments at Dow Jones, responsible for management of strategically important print and online circulation programs for The Wall Street Journal and Barron’s. Prior to this role, he was responsible for all print consumer marketing. Yost was also senior vice president, video sales and retention at Columbia House. In addition, Yost has held executive positions at American Express.
Yost received his MBA from Columbia Business School. He has a Bachelor of Arts from Bucknell University.
