Prepress
Image-FX from Color-Logic
Monday 10. February 2014 - Dramatically Cuts Metallics Design Time
Image-FX from Color-Logic–a user-friendly plug-in tool for Adobe Photoshop–essentially eliminates the heretofore lengthy process of determining how and where to add metallic effects to an image. The Image-FX feature of the Color-Logic Design Suite permits graphic designers or printer prepress personnel to determine, with a single mouse click, precisely how much metallic effect should be added into an RGB, LAB, or CMYK image. What previously required hours of designer time can now be done in seconds.
Image-FX is a photorealistic image separation algorithm which analyzes images and creates an effect printing plate by calculating the required metallic effect for the different tonal regions of the image. The Color-Logic plug-in eliminates the hit-and-miss, trial-and-error approach to integrating metallic or white inks into the image.
Commenting on the new capability, Color-Logic Chief Technical Officer Richard Ainge said: “The Image-FX feature in the Color-Logic Design Suite makes designing with decorative effects a breeze. The new multilingual interface permits designers to create the Color-Logic separation with a single mouse click, and to reliably and predictably print with either metallic or white ink.”
The Color-Logic Design Suite is available from licensed Color-Logic printers.
