MadeToPrint update adds hot folder priorities

Friday 10. January 2014 - axaio software, developer of solutions for PDF creation, printing and content correction workflows for the publishing and printing markets, just released a maintenance release for MadeToPrint (v 2.5.284) that adds a number of important new features and includes fixes for problems reported by customers.

axaio MadeToPrint Auto and Server allow defining different hot folders to  automatically produce output from InDesign jobs dropped into those hot folders. In the new update 2.5.284 those hot folders can be assigned different priorities which determine the order in which folders are scanned by MadeToPrint. This allows setting up prioritized workflows; hot folder setups to generate files to be archived can for example be given a lower priority than hot folder setups related to urgent production work.
Another often requested feature provides additional smoothing options when InDesign jobs are exported to PNG or TIFF images; making such images more usable especially when produced as thumbnails or preview images. In workflows where layers and layer views are used, an additional export option now allows exporting specific layer views by name to increase flexibility.
Noteworthy as well is that version 2.5.284 of MadeToPrint includes an  updated version of the pdfToolbox 7 engine for post-processing of the generated MadeToPrint PDF files. This version of pdfToolbox – released by axaio’s sister company callas software in October 2013 – includes a number of new and advanced PDF checks and fixes that are now also accessible from within MadeToPrint. Users can choose the dedicated PDF profile for their requirements from a PDF palette to export their tailor-made PDF file.
Note for Enfocus Switch users: A new MadeToPrint Switch configurator is available (version 22), which contains a number of small improvements. You can download the configurator from the Crossroads website or via your own Switch Pack Manager.
