Xeikon announces that MasterMail, a direct marketing company in Belgium, installed a Xeikon 8500. MasterMail will use this press to make the difference in multichannel direct marketing.
Daniëlle Vanwesenbeeck founded the company ten years ago. MasterMail initially specialized in mailing production coordination, but soon expanded its activities to cover production and shipment across the whole of Europe. Today MasterMail is at the cutting-edge of complex personalization and automation. Together with her husband Werner Aernouts, Daniëlle Vanwesenbeeck leads a team of 20 employees, responsible for the entire multichannel direct marketing campaign chain – from advice, design and creation up to production and distribution. Customers include banks, insurance companies and utility and energy companies.
In 2012, the successful growth of the company resulted in a Womed Award for Daniëlle Vanwesenbeeck, the prize for the best Flemish female entrepreneur of the year. According to her, the reason for this success lies in the approach: “We always want to distinguish ourselves by offering just that little bit more to our customers. And Xeikon fits in perfectly with this reasoning.”
Until recently, the machinery consisted of a digital cut sheet printer, color copiers, finishing equipment and inserters. To also be able to print spot colors and extend the format range, a high productivity digital press was required. MasterMail decided to go for the Xeikon 8500.
It was essentially the press its format flexibility that sealed the deal. Just like the other presses in the 8000 series, the Xeikon 8500 prints substrate widths of 320 to 512 mm and weight of 40 to 350 g/m². The stability of the machine, the consistent print quality and reliability and one-pass duplex technology were other factors that pursued MasterMail. The press can also be simply and seamlessly integrated in MasterMail’s existing workflow – a crucial precondition because the company has developed its own software for personalization and other variable data applications.
“MasterMail’s application range hits our sweet spot,” says Danny Mertens, Xeikon’s Director Segment Marketing Document Printing. “The fact that such a dynamic and innovative company as MasterMail chooses our technology to make the difference, is a nice confirmation. With them as a partner we are looking forward to further developing the local market, while convincing it of the capabilities of Xeikon digital presses for multichannel direct marketing.”
