Wednesday 09. October 2013 - The USA TODAY Sports Media Group and CineSport, a leading online producer and syndicator of original sports video programming, announced today that they have entered into a content and technology partnership in which CineSport will provide its industry-leading video technology platform--the VaMP video platform--and create custom sports video content for properties within the USA TODAY Sports Media Group.
“CineSport’s video production and programming capabilities makes this the ideal partnership for us,” said Tom Beusse, president of the USA TODAY Sports Media Group. “In addition, CineSport’s VaMP technology is a cutting edge platform for multi-site publishers and provides all of the key components necessary to deliver video to audiences across platforms and devices.”
“USA TODAY Sports Media Group is the largest and most creatively ambitious network of sports properties, and we’re looking forward to developing original programming with their talented editorial teams,” said Gregg Winik, CineSport’s CEO. “This partnership will demonstrate the true power that quality original video can deliver when contextually integrated into premium platforms.”
As part of the partnership agreement, CineSport and USA TODAY Sports will co-produce original programming for distribution through CineSport’s VaMP platform with the ability to distribute across hundreds of destinations within both the CineSport and USA TODAY Sports universes.
The VaMP platform was developed in 2012 to specifically meet the needs of news and information sites and has seen wide adoption across CineSport’s network of major publishers, which include the Boston Globe, Philadelphia Inquirer, St. Louis Post-Dispatch and more than 100 other major daily news brands. VaMP provides a simple solution for editors to publish video contextually in the body of articles and to maximize engagement and monetization.
