Wednesday 02. October 2013 - Good opportunities for print in a digital world

Products, practices, perspectives and innovation- these four words sum up the contents of the latest issue of KBA Report.
The customer magazine from press manufacturer Koenig & Bauer is once again packed with 52 pages of practice-orientated features on investments, news and business models from the international print scene, plus new technologies for diverse market segments. With the headline “Today’s print arena demands entrepreneurship” the 43rd edition of KBA Report appeals to the industry’s willingness to actively face the challenges and opportunities for print in an increasingly digitalized world. KBA CEO and president Claus Bolza-Schünemann: “Print and online will grow together into multi-channeled communication solutions with which money can be made. The same is true of analogue and digital technologies in the printing process itself.”
Alongside reports on the premiere of the new large-format Rapida 164 as well as new investments and installations in metal-decorating, commercial, book, packaging and newspaper printing, this new edition focuses on finishing. Specialist articles address cold-foil finishing, UV inert curing for the production of high-quality packaging in sheetfed offset and digital newspaper printing with the KBA RotaJET. Further reports include KBA’s entry into directly decorating glass and hollow-containers with the newly acquired subsidiary Kammann Maschinenbau and the expansion of KBA’s already broad portfolio with products for the growing flexible packaging segment. This market segment will be addressed further after the takeover of Italian manufacturer Flexotecnica is completed soon.
