Textile Printing

Web to print: The new textile frontiers

Friday 04. October 2013 - Pixartprinting has the first Italian installation of the number one Rhotex inkjet printer for industrial soft signage Durst application.

Textile market is in a turmoil, constantly growing and discovering new applications. Pixartprinting is a living proof of such change. As a leader on WtP with more than 95,000 clients all around Europe, only in the last year it managed to increase its market share +72% in this sector. In order to supply the growing demand, and remain faithful to its short and prompt delivery times, the company relies on productivity and reliability of Durst technology. “For a while we have been noticing client’s shift in favour of textiles rather than standard PVC banners. The reasons for this are not surprising if we consider a number of unbeatable advantages. Firstly, disposal of materials if simpler than with standard PVC banners, lighter fabrics, easily foldable and transportable, less creasing and may be used number of times more than PVC banners”, confirms Alessandro Tenderini, Pixartprinting’s Managing Director.
Our presence in many European countries, permits Pixartprinting an unique look into the changes and trends in the market, thus allowing the Venetian company to be a step ahead of future market trends. “Our choice to go “Green” is not a fashion statement, but a necessity. Many European countries are heavily regulated by Environmental laws which inevitably result in standard PVC materials being replaced by environmentally friendly textiles”, confirms Mr. Tenderini.
The use of textiles in advertising is endless: flags, displays, posters, fair and exhibition advertising in general. Textiles have been present in our range of products since 2007. In the last years, the demand has increased drastically, enough to require an additional production support. After a thorough research into it, Rhotex was the only system which matched our specific needs, such as “around the clock” productivity, image quality, reliability and process automatisation. It is the only industrial printer in line with our demanding requirements, and with the top quality results required by our clients.
Up to 110m2/h, 600 dpi, 6 colours. Moreover, prints have incredible image brightness, vibrant nuances and high visual impact attained by the use of water-based dispersion Rhotex inks which are completely environmentally friendly, recyclable, odourless and free of VOC’s. Prints have 2 years outdoor lifespan in large formats. All these and more are unbeatable advantages of Rhotex industrial inkjet printer for industrial soft signage applications.
Partnership between Pixartprinting and Durst has already been in place for some time, but it was further consolidated with the installation of the Rhotex printer. In fact, for years Durst printers made part of the Pixartprinting’s production support. The relationship is solid to such extant that Pixartprinting recently confirmed the installation of the biggest Durst Rho P10 plant in the world. Alberto Bassanello, Sales Director for Durst Italy, commented. “Pixartprinting is the company which recognizes the technological advantages and their values. We are fully aware that production systems are chosen only after careful consideration of all available systems in the market. Their choice to once again put their trust in Durst technology is taken with great pride. Furthermore, by witnessing the Pixartprinting’s recent growth, we could only expect an immediate installation of the second Rhotex.
This 6th sense certainly has a base in Pixartprinting’s objectives, which recognizes a great opportunity for growing in textile industry ” We are only at the beginning. Textile is still not fully discovered and may have its applications in many areas.”
Pixartprinting’s R&D department is currently looking into extending currently available textile range and its uses, with polyester finishing, as well as with the use of natural materials such as cotton or linen. A desire for the new is huge, as confirmed by Mr. Tenderini: “At Pixartprinting’s DNA there is a print. We think that any material which can be printed on is worth looking into. We have sufficient amount of curiosity, determination, stability and know-how to experiment with new possibilities and pleasantly surprise our clients with the new and the original. We’d like to see our- selves and trend-setters and make available the most unusual and the most creative solutions to a vast range of clients with the additional touch of “green” , even in Textiles”.
