Advance Communications selects ProImage NewsWay, again.
Tuesday 10. September 2013 - Automates production workflow and maximizes plate room and press productivity
New ProImage Limited has today announced that Advance Communications property The Patriot-News, Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, has ordered a NewsWay system in order to automate production workflow and maximize plate room and press productivity.
The software supports multiple workflows, automatically plans editions and then facilitates priority scheduling, production tracking, page pairing and routing. It also automatically provides text and furniture burning on plates as well as optimizing plate room production and management. In addition, the software will burn a barcode onto the page image for subsequent plate sorting.
End-to-end production management and control:
It will report on production data such as when pages were released, RIPped, approved, output against scheduling – through to press start.
The correct ink coverage is calculated by column for each page and NewsWay forwards the results to the press’ ink setting control system – providing a total end-to-end production management solution.
At The Patriot-News NewsWay load balances output to two CTP devices thus ensuring maximum plate throughput.
Meanwhile another Advance Communications endorsement for NewsWay. The Staten Island Advance, already a NewsWay user, has upgraded to the latest version (which supports Windows 2012 Server) and expanded their system to increase the number of CPUs providing faster throughput and also added the ability to manage and load balance a third CTP device.
