Caldera expects growth boost following strong outing at FESPA 2013
Tuesday 13. August 2013 - Wide-format software specialist Caldera is celebrating a highly successful FESPA 2013 in London, where the company debuted a number of innovative products and updates including a new industry-specific web-to-print solution and the latest version of Caldera's flagship productivity software, Flow+ 2.0.
“We are delighted with the reaction we received at FESPA 2013, not only for our new offerings but also for our established RIP and workflow solutions,” says Sébastien Hanssens, vice-president of marketing and communications, Caldera. “It was a high-quality show with a very high calibre of visitors and the feedback we have had from both current and prospective customers has been universally positive.”
Visitors to Caldera’s booth were particularly inspired by the valuable insight and in-depth technical articles they were able to take away for free in the form of house magazine Gamut. As well as providing a closer look at the Caldera solutions on show at FESPA, Gamut’s contributors – including industry heavyweights Barney Cox, Sophie Matthews-Paul and Laurel Brunner – scrutinised the trends and challenges prevalent in wide-format print and digital signage, providing reference material that remains valuable long after the event.
Flow+ 2.0 proved to be one of the biggest draws to the stand, with many visitors having marked out the solution as a high priority before arriving at the show, and were given thorough demonstrations on the stand by the Caldera team. The fully integrated workflow, RIP and web-to-print capabilities of Caldera’s portfolio were also of special interest, and initial responses suggest that plenty of the enthusiasm generated at the show will translate into new sales.
“FESPA 2013 was a landmark show for Caldera,” explains Joseph Mergui, Caldera’s chief executive officer. “We are at the beginning of a new global push, reaching further than our position in the top echelons of wide-format software into vital new markets. We have worked hard to bring our customers the solutions they told us they needed, and we are pleased to say that those who visited Caldera at FESPA were inspired by what they saw. Even more positively, there are plenty of new customers who are looking to take advantage of our forward-thinking production and business tools.”
Among the other products showcased at FESPA 2013 was Caldera’s digital signage solution, Variable Display, designed to help established sign-makers and printers make the move into the profitable area of digital screen technology. The combined software and hardware package garnered plenty of interest, and Caldera has revealed its intentions to invest in market education in this area to help sign-making businesses understand the benefits and overcome the challenges of expanding their offering with digital signage.
“Many of the business owners we spoke to are beginning to see the opportunities available to them by adding digital signage to their product portfolios, instead of being concerned that the digital revolution will take revenue away from their businesses,” adds Mergui. “This is an important step forward, and it is something we will be building on in the very near future.”
Caldera will continue to present these and other significant product developments at exhibitions around the world this year, including SGIA in Orlando, FESPA Eurasia, FESPA China and the Viscom shows in Paris, Düsseldorf and Milan.
