Wednesday 24. July 2013 - Epson Demonstrates Many Printing Solutions and Technologies at Collaborative Workstations
Epson will be showcasing advanced printing technology and solutions at the Studio at SIGGRAPH 2013. The Studio is a collaborative working environment that brings the latest technologies and brightest minds together to learn, experiment and create. Epson printers will be available for hands on use at the Studio and are the primary 2D printing solutions featured during the duration of the conference, from Sunday, July 21 through Thursday, July 25 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, Calif.
“Printing goes very deep in the Studio at SIGGRAPH and we are thrilled to have the opportunity to once again work with Epson to create several interactive printing labs,” said Patricia Clark, chair, Studio at SIGGRAPH 2013. “To have Epson participate during our 40(th) anniversary of SIGGRAPH is significant as well, since printing was the seed that allowed the Studio to become an official venue at the conference. The Studio guests will have a wonderful opportunity to experience the many different aspects of printing.”
By visiting the Studio, attendees are able to try out a wide range of new techniques and media with help from experienced hands. Epson will be showcasing the following printing solutions:
— Epson SureColor() T7000: Leveraging a combination of precision and
performance with Epson UltraChrome() XD pigment ink for brilliant,
crisp output, attendees will have an opportunity to print large format
prints up to 44-inches wide on Epson Premium Semimatte Photo Paper.
— Epson Stylus() Photo R3000: Visitors will be able to air paint a
design using body movement with Leap Motion Controller and Corel Painter
Freestyle technology, which allows users to control brush strokes
through finger movements in the air. Once completed, users can leverage
the advanced features and quality of the 13-inch Epson Stylus Photo
R3000 printer with UltraChrome K3() with Vivid Magenta pigment ink
that delivers gallery quality color output, using their imagery, on
canvas media.
— Epson Stylus Photo R2000: Visitors will have several opportunities to
experience the versatility of the Epson Stylus Photo R2000 with Epson
UltraChrome Hi-Gloss() 2 pigment ink which, delivered through Epson’s
Advanced MicroPiezo AMC print head, yields beautiful archival prints
with an unprecedented glossy look and feel. In the “Fight! Our Shadow
Robot” digital workshop, attendees will have an opportunity to create
paper craft templates and transform characters from 2D to 3D. In the
“Interactive Card Weaving” section, users will be able to assist in the
design of original weaving patterns and their construction using the
printer and color yarns. The R2000 will also be used throughout several
printing areas of the Studio, including printing glossy gigapixel prints
in 8″x10″ or 13″x19″ from enlarged nanoscale objects and open color
management and printing areas.
— Epson Expression() XP850: Attendees will have an opportunity to create
art books using the Expression XP-850 with Claria() Photo HD six-color
inks for smooth gradations and amazing skin tones along with Epson
Signature Worthy() Hot Press Natural and Cold Press Bright papers.
Epson Hot Press Natural provides a smooth surface with a warm tone and
Cold Press Bright offers a more textured surface with a brighter white
point, both delivering extremely-high color gamut and black density.
“The SIGGRAPH Studio is the ideal place to showcase innovative and hands on approaches to printing,” said Larry Kaufman, product manager, Professional Imaging, Epson America, Inc. “We are excited to be showcasing so many different printing technologies, including a Small-in-One home printer, our 13-inch professional photo printers and a 44-inch professional plotter. The Studio will truly have something for everyone to try.”
