Océ PlotWave 340/360 Large Format Printing System with Multi-Touch Panel Integrates Technical Users with the Cloud

Monday 22. July 2013 - Canon Solutions America, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Canon U.S.A., announced today the launch of its new Océ PlotWave 340 and Océ PlotWave 360 monochrome printing systems. The Océ PlotWave 340/360 offers a new standard in user interaction and cloud integration for technical users to print, copy and scan low volumes of technical documents. This fast and flexible wide format system helps businesses save time and money on their document production.

Sal Sheikh, Vice President, Large Format Systems, Canon Solutions America says, “This new system was developed to address the practical needs of technical users who are working on projects with other parties via online portals or the cloud and require more flexibility from their multifunctional printing system. The Océ PlotWave 340/360 provides superior ease-of-use via a multi-touch panel; affording users the flexibility of the mobile and handheld technologies they are accustomed to using.”
Printing is as Easy as Using a Tablet
Technical users are accustomed to handling their business with the latest tablet and mobile technologies. The new Océ ClearConnect multi-touch user panel enables users to pan, zoom, swipe and spread; making printing as easy and clear as using a tablet. Thanks to the intuitive gestured controlled touch software, users are able to print faster and can see the orientation of documents with a live preview while scanning/copying to help avoid costly errors. They can pull up a document, zoom it out and pan to different areas to check critical details. The easy shortcuts save users valuable time when printing.
Printing and Scanning in the Cloud and Everywhere Else
Technical users working via project portals or in the cloud can access documents directly at the printer using the Océ ClearConnect multi-touch panel. Files can be pulled to the printer from cloud-enabled workflows and scanned to the cloud of choice. This simplifies document workflows with other project members. In addition to the cloud, users can browse files and print them from a USB stick or network location. If a file is on a mobile phone, users can access the Océ PlotWave 340/360 printer and print via the Océ Publisher Mobile App through an existing WiFi. Or they can print from their desktop PC via Océ Publisher Select to manage more complex document sets.
Print More Productively
Time is of the essence for most organizations. With its powerful Microsoft Windows Embedded Standard 7 controller, technical users can print, copy and scan without sacrificing productivity. The Océ PlotWave 340/360 can print up to 4/6 D-size plots in one minute, with virtually no warm-up time thanks to Océ Radiant Fusing technology. This speed means that users can go from cold click to print in hand in less than 40 seconds, compared to a slow four minutes with conventional printers. It is designed for fast file processing and can handle all file formats – a HP-GL/2, PDF, DWF, JPEG and many more – and large files without sacrificing speed. True concurrent operation means the scanner can be used for copying or scanning while printing is taking place. This Eco-friendly fusing method not only provides instant-on machine availability, but also consumes less energy and emits less noise and ozone when compared to other fusing methods.
To help reduce costly mistakes, the new Océ Wide-format Printer Driver 2.0 for Windows also supports this system. Its straightforward design makes it much easier to print complex drawings correctly the first time. It includes a “What You See is What You Print” preview that clearly highlights potential errors that might occur with a selection. This includes misplaced fold lines or an error in document size. Users can correct their selection and avoid costly mistakes and time loss.
