Ancient House Press completes move to an alcohol-free pressroom

Tuesday 11. June 2013 - Ancient House Press has just completed its move to a completely alcohol free pressroom and it is using technotrans circulator and dampening filtration systems to operate to maximum efficiency..

For this environmentally aware company, which holds ISO 14001 certification, running alcohol free has been the target for some time. The arrival of its latest press, a Komori GLX 1040, means that all presses at the plant now run without alcohol.
This latest installation is equipped with beta.c 220 temperature control and a beta.f dampening filtration unit. Operating alcohol free requires greater discipline because there are narrower operating parameters. Chemistry must be clean and ink tack exactly right and these press ancillaries help Ancient House Press to achieve that.
“Good chemistry is critical to running without alcohol and it needs to be controlled well which it is with the beta.f. The filter life it good too,” says Paul Sadler, operations director. “We like using technotrans because their products are good and their service and support is reliable. We are very pleased to have completed the circle in our move to having an alcohol-free pressroom.”
Colchester-based technotrans has been at the forefront of environmental developments and is happy to meet and discuss issues like energy-efficiency, the conservation of resources, lower consumption of additives and reduced press maintenance.
Ancient House Press offers both web and sheetfed printing to a range of clients but puts an emphasis on customer service, hoping to exceed expectations whether producing millions of catalogues for a major retailer or a short run of calendars for a local business.
