FASTSIGNS Case Study: Making Waves with Visual Communications
Thursday 23. May 2013 - The Opportunity: As Wave Broadband has steadily grown over the past decade, so too have the orders they place with FASTSIGNS of Kirkland, owned by Greg Shugarts and Brent Pettersen. After ordering a few small items over the course of five years, the company expanded to two new locations at the same time they were launching a new advertising campaign, and they knew they would need something more than their typical order.
The Challenge:
Wave Broadband came to FASTSIGNS when they realized they had grown to a point where they needed their branding to really make a splash, as they moved to the next level in their business.
The Solution:
After consulting with them, the FASTSIGNS team presented Wave Broadband with a plan to make a cohesive brand image for the company.
“They didn’t have much existing branding, so this project was really about creating their brand identity. We talked to them about all of the ways that we could tie the graphics on their storefronts and in the showrooms to their planned advertising program. We also gave them ideas for car wrapswrapping the MINI Coopers they would be using for sales appointments and the Ford Transit Connect they use for installs,” said Greg.
While the vehicle wraps were underway, the team began working on a variety of other solutions to bring the company’s two new facilities into the Wave Broadband family while also reinforcing their brand message with potential customers. To brand the exterior of their new locations in Belfair and Tukwila, WA, FASTSIGNS created several full-color solvent window and door graphics. A two-piece, dimensional storefront signwas also built for the Tukwila location.
Next, the team created a variety of interior solutions including Velcro-mounted mini signs, wall graphics, hanging signs, and counter cards with easel backs to use throughout the new showrooms. In the lobby at the corporate office, the team rounded out the branding with dimensional letters.
The Result:
“When everything had been completed, Wave was ecstatic about the visual impact of their storefront signs and graphics. The MINI Coopers have also had an extremely positive response from employees and management at Wave, while the Transit Connect van was acknowledged by the client as the most flawless vehicle graphics installation they have ever seen. The salespeople who drive the MINI Coopers report that they get a lot of heads turning while driving all over their service areas every day.”

After the completion of the project, the team also received an email from the client, thanking them not only for their work on the vehicle wraps, but also for all of their hard work on the entire project:
Just a quick email to let you know that everyone here has come by to tell me how much they love the Mini. Your team did a great job with it. Our CEO and CMO were both very impressed with it. I was sure to tell our CEO that we chose to work with FASTSIGNS of Kirkland for this job. He was very happy with the car.
Please send my thanks to Joe, your production team, and installer team. And thank you for all of the attention you’ve given this particular job, and for explaining every process, every step of the way.
