INX to launch trio of new ink systems at Cannex
Tuesday 23. April 2013 - INX International Ink Co. is undeniably the world's leading supplier of metal decorating ink for 2-piece cans and flat sheet metal printing. At Cannex & Fillex de las Americas, INX (booth 227) will feature three new ink systems and a complete line of ink and coating solutions for the metal decorating market.
A variety of 2-piece, flat sheet and digital application ink solutions will include both conventional and UV ink types on display at the show, which runs from May 1-3 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta. The CP100 UV digital cylindrical printer will demonstrate in the booth how to print 2-piece cans. For the latest developments before and during Cannex, follow INX on Facebook and Twitter, or visit the web site at www.inxinternational.com.
The three new ink products are the TP Plus Base System, INXCure TP UV Plus Base System and AP Retort II. INX International President & CEO Rick Clendenning says booth visitors can count on these products to meet market expectations.
“INX International continues to develop new products to meet the requirements of the metal decorating industry worldwide,” said Clendenning. “With the many developments and issues impacting metal decorating, customers know they can trust our products. We have an outstanding R & D department devoted to staying ahead of the curve and designing the best ink products for the marketplace. Cannex presents a great environment to share these developments with the industry.”
The TP Plus Base System inks are formulated for fast make-ready. The thermoset 3-piece inks have a combined soy and vegetable oil content mixture and have demonstrated outstanding printability and runability. With a wider water balance window and abrasion resistance, these bright colors provide improved adhesion, gloss and fabrication to produce outstanding printability with a clean and sharp image.
The INXCure TP UV Plus Base System offers an extensive array of base colors with superior transfer, fabrication and flexibility benefits. Like the TP Plus Base System, these inks are designed for use on crowns, caps, closures and 2-piece DRD cans, as well as welded aerosols and decorative tin applications. With a fast cure response, they run with a variety of fountain solutions and have displayed excellent adhesion to most clear, white base and color coatings.
The AP Retort II inks for 2-piece metal decorating features improved ink rheology and misting capability. These thermoset inks have demonstrated superior press performance and good transfer properties while exhibiting retort resistance with no color migration, fade or bleeding.
In addition to inks and coatings, INX offers digital printing equipment for the 2-piece and flat sheet markets from its EVOLVE Advanced Digital Solutions brand line of equipment.
The CP100 UV digital cylindrical printer is designed for short-run work and uses Xaar patented through flow technology to deliver exceptionally consistent, eye-catching color. It offers high quality, single or multi-pass through-cured 4-color resolution up to 300 dpi that, according to customers, can’t be matched by traditional screen print, heat transfer or sublimation bottle printing methods. The CP100 over prints, over varnishes and fabricates very well, and specifically formulated UV LED inks give it a capability that is unrivaled.
The MD1000 UV digital flatbed printer, like the CP100, offers best-in-class performance and image quality for the short-run production of decorative tins, general line containers and aerosols. The printer is so unique and versatile that it has been used for a wide variety of functions, such as producing acoustic tiles for the inside walls of a musical auditorium.
As a value-added service to customers, INX conducts a series of educational seminars for both the 2-piece and 3-piece market tailored to customer requests and specifications. These seminars provide a working knowledge of printing ink and its characteristics, and the goal is to take the mystery out of printing ink. Some examples include Ink; Cost Containment; Label Set-up; Ink Film Applications; and Wet-on-Wet Printing. The sessions typically run from one hour to 3-1/2 hours in duration.
