Finishing & Screen Printing
Opening of New Center at Headquarters in Zofingen
Wednesday 13. February 2013 - Muller Martini's Print Finishing Center for Comprehensive Know-How Transfer Opens in February 2013
Following extensive reconstruction work to the historical factory building at Muller Martini’s headquarters in Zofingen, Switzerland, the new print finishing center for machine demonstrations, training courses and know-how transfer, with particular emphasis on end products and data and process management, will open at the beginning of February.
Machine and product demonstrations will again be run, supported by optimal infrastructure, for interested customers in a modern machine park at the new 2,000 m2 site from February 2013. Procedure tests and product tests, for example involving specific paper types or unusual finishing processes, will provide customers with important input and also support the further development of Muller Martini’s systems.
Individual Training Courses
Machine operators and operating personnel from all around the globe will be trained in the machine park, which features the Presto II saddle stitcher with the option of digital processing, the Primera with the Sitma inserting and film wrapping machine and the Tempo 220 with a palletizing unit, the FlexLiner inserting system for the newspaper mailroom and mailshot market, and a SigmaLine for digital book production. The experienced and highly motivated instructors and process specialists will instruct the course participants in theoretical and practical operation of Muller Martini’s systems. With their extensive knowledge, they will also provide internal training courses to ensure that Muller Martini’s worldwide sales and service staff are fully up to date.
Product Innovation Lounge for New Ideas
In tandem with the training courses and demonstrations, visitors can also familiarize themselves with special print products and their production and be inspired by innovative product ideas in the Product Innovation Lounge. They can discuss new markets and visions and the opportunities that these offer in a relaxed atmosphere. Print finishing in particular offers (almost) unlimited possibilities for print producers, advertising agencies and companies producing branded products to stand out from the competition, for example, with various types of finishing, personalization or added value. Attractive print products made using digital printing and hybrid systems from Muller Martini open up promising business models.
Important Know-How Transfer
In the Print Finishing Center specialists will also provide extensive information about the advantages of Muller Martini’s software solutions. The Connex data and process management system provides customers with a complete solution in digital printing from pre-press through printing to print finishing. Connex organizes and controls production over a wide range of systems, from saddle stitching systems to digital printing equipment. In addition to Connex, MPC (Mailroom Production Control) provides a simple, clear, flexible and comprehensive solution for the optimized control and monitoring of the workflow in the mailroom. Production data are retrieved fully automatically from the various systems (Connex and MPC) via Connex.Info. The data are prepared and can be comprehensively analyzed here or in the higher-level MIS (Management Information System).
The MMServices portfolio from Muller Martini is also one of the focal points of the Print Finishing Center. Elements of the program, such as MMInspect, the preventive inspection service from Muller Martini, will be presented in a hands-on way using illustrative examples. Potential updates and upgrades that extend the lifecycle of machines and ensure that they continue to deliver a high-level performance for many years will be presented under MMUptodate.
