ESKO STUDIO SOFTWARE FEATURES AVERY DENNISON LABEL MATERIALS

Friday 08. February 2013 - More than 40 self-adhesive label materials are now available worldwide

Avery Dennison label materials are now featured in Esko Studio software, allowing packaging designers who model highly realistic 3D packaging simulations to gain rapid product insights and group feedback.
The suite of simulation tools enables packaging designers to show exactly what the packaging will look like in high resolution 3D, reducing the need for costly ‘hard’ prototypes. Extremely precise material simulations use a range of Avery Dennison products, with a level of detail that extends all the way to decorative techniques such as label embossing.
“We have estimated that the approval process for new packaging designs will be 25% faster as a result of these new simulations, compared with conventional hardware prototypes, says Jay Gouillard, vice president of segment innovation at Avery Dennison Materials Group. “Beyond development time and cost implications, this new tool gives designers a competitive edge because it allows far more different versions of a design to be previewed in detail before a final decision is made.”
The new simulations offer designers a wide selection of materials, including some of the most recent Avery Dennison innovations in films and papers. Options include the Avery Dennison ultra clear ‘no-label’ look, premium wine & spirits products, conformable labelling materials and holographic kaleidoscope films.
According to Kris Van Bael, Product Manager 3D and Visualisation at Esko, the new materials have created a significantly enhanced experience for packaging designers: “This is an important addition to existing Esko simulation capabilities. Access to important and widely used materials from Avery Dennison will open further opportunities for designers to create differentiation and provide added value to their customers.”
