Digital First Media chooses Digital Technology for Circulation in the Cloud
Wednesday 23. January 2013 - Enterprise-wide DTI Cloud deployment will be largest in the world
Digital Technology International (DTI) has signed an agreement with Digital First Media, to implement DTI Circulation via DTI Cloud across their news media enterprise. Digital First Media operates MediaNews Group, Journal Register Company and Digital First Ventures and reaches 61.5 million Americans each month through more than 800 multi-platform products across 18 states. Digital Technology’s circulation solution will support all Digital First Media publications and 800 users which will make it the largest cloud deployment of its kind in the world.
Digital First Media required a hybrid circulation system that could manage both digital and print as well as the scalability to handle smaller publications through large metropolitan newspapers. DTI Circulation, the industry’s top selling system, has already been in daily operation on-premises at several MediaNews Group newspapers in California, New Mexico, and on the East Coast. The new agreement places all Digital First Media operations under an agreement that utilizes an enterprise-wide cloud computing environment.
“DTI’s new cloud-based circulation system will provide us with marketing and management features that allow Digital First Media to scale and share real-time metrics across our network,” said Bob Mason, Chief Technology Officer, Digital First Media. “By moving everything to DTI Cloud, we will create dramatic operational efficiencies and be able to provide a higher level of customer service in all of our markets.”
In addition to managing distribution of products, DTI Circulation will also centralize valuable audience and subscriber information to help Digital First Media discover new customer insights.
“Digital First Media is a pioneer driving digital strategies across the entire news media industry. It’s a privilege for us to partner with innovators who have a strong vision and share our digital mindset,” said Dan Paulus, president, Digital Technology International. “Digital First Media’s massive audience and scale represents a unique opportunity to exploit the power of our software through DTI Cloud.”
Digital First Media cited DTI Circulation as a system that could handle their complex digital and combo buy subscriptions. DTI’s unique ability to deliver a PCI-compliant solution for customers’ credit card transactions was also a factor in the decision.
