Allens enhances its cutting to match improved press output
Friday 09. November 2012 - Almost a year after installing a Speedmaster SM 52-4 press, Allens Printers has returned to Heidelberg for a new Polar guillotine. The Polar N78 Plus will handle B2 and B3 work from the Cardiff company's four B2 and B3 presses.
“We had two guillotines but decided to upgrade the 19 year old machine. It was still working fine but we wanted to renew and update. The latest version is faster and has airbeds all around and not just around the knife and it is generally more efficient,” says Jonathan Mills, managing director.
“Heidelberg machinery is fantastic and we have been very pleased with the SM 52. Good printing output requires the cutting capacity to match so we have this month taken delivery of this guillotine. The Polar machines have always been very reliable so we had no reason to buy any other make. The operators found it a very easy transfer to the latest model,” says Mr Mills
Allens Printers is a general commercial colour printer which serves a predominantly South Wales customer base but has business UK wide.
At Drupa in May Polar launched its 11th generation guillotines, the N Plus standard and N Pro top of the range model with the enlarged 22 inch touch screen and Linus software.
