Wednesday 31. October 2012 - Presentation to reveal how global insurance provider transformed customer communications in six weeks

GMC Software Technology, a leading provider of customer communications and output management solutions, today announced its participation at the Gartner Symposium ITxpo, 5-8, November 2012 in Barcelona, Spain. The company is due to present at two speaking sessions alongside global insurance customer, MetLife, as well as hosting a press conference on-site and providing on-stand demonstrations.
Speaking Sessions
Insurance customer, MetLife, will present alongside GMC on legacy modernization in a session titled “Global Financial Services Company Presents Legacy Modernisation in 6 Weeks.” In the session, NicolasAfonso, Organization and Analysis Manager at MetLife Spain, will reveal how MetLife modernized their legacy customer communication applications in six weeks without impacting their core, mission-critical systems. The session will take place on Wednesday 7, November at 11:15 AM in the Hilton Ballroom.
“IT modernization doesn’t have mean reinventing core legacy applications, especially when it comes to customer communications,” said Afonso. “With the right approach and tools, enterprises can repurpose and leverage their existing IT investments to deliver more effective communications across multiple channels without taking risks on core systems.”
Prior to his current position, Nicolas Afonso served as Business Administration and Operation Project Manager at MetLife Spain. In addition, he held senior roles at Santander Group Software Development, and Accenture. Afonso’s education includes industrial engineering at Universidad Pontificia de Comillas (ICAI), Madrid and Université Libre de Bruxelles, Brusels as well as education in capital markets and structured finance at the Institute of Advanced Finance.
GMC’s Mike Davies, Regional Vice President of Sales for EMEA North, will also provide a live demonstration of legacy repurposing in a session titled “Legacy Modernisation in 20 Minutes”. The interactive session will show how businesses can take existing, legacy communication applications, mine, extract and repurpose the content for multiple uses, across multiple channels without impacting core, critical systems. Davies’ session takes place on Tuesday 6, November at 12.45 PM on the ITxpo show floor, Theatre 1.
“Businesses are pressured to ensure customer communications conform to the customer’s needs as well as regulatory demands, however many are tied to legacy systems and processes” said Davies. “In the session we aim to demonstrate how businesses can remove the barriers of a legacy environment and achieve faster results on their customer communication objectives.”
