Mohn Media prints over 50 million telephone directories per year

Thursday 25. October 2012 - At first glance, the traditional telephone directory seems to have lost out compared to digital alternatives such as online address lists. But the arvato print unit Mohn Media actually prints over 50 million telephone directories per year for publishers in Germany and in over 25 countries worldwide. As well as publishers from the core European markets, there are also customers from Chile, Trinidad and Tobago, Suriname, the Dominican Republic and Israel.

In 2009, Mohn Media received an order from Algeria which was its first order from a telephone directory publisher outside Europe. Over 350,000 address directories were produced and distributed for the North African country, marking the start of further business relationships with countries in Africa. The Gütersloh-based print unit now has customers from Morocco, Tanzania and Angola as well.
“In our experience, offering high quality products is not the only thing that matters. It is also important to focus on security and transporting the products to the customer quickly,” says Frank Ziegengeist, key account manager at Mohn Media. Modern machinery at the print unit ensures seamless processes and compliance with set deadlines. This also means that Mohn Media can offer much shorter production times than other competitors. Customers worldwide are impressed by this efficiency.
