L & D Mail Masters Purchases Screen Truepress Jet520
Wednesday 24. October 2012 - L & D Mail Masters, Inc., a $25 million direct marketing specialist, has purchased a Screen Truepress Jet520 inkjet web press. The full-color variable printing system creates high-quality one-to-one marketing materials effectively and easily. It will augment production capacity at L & D Mail Masters' printing facility in New Albany, Ind., and allow the company to deliver high-volume projects even faster.
“The Truepress Jet520 is ideal for printing color and black-and-white forms at fast speeds,” said Diane Fischer, president. “We built our business in the variable data world. Screen technology and print quality rank right up there with the very best variable data equipment.”
Fischer started L & D Mail Masters in 1986 in her home with a folding machine and a postal meter. Today, the company occupies a three-building campus totaling 180,000 square feet and staffed by 120 employees. Its menu of services includes creative design, printing, multimedia campaign development, storage and fulfillment. Insurance companies, financial institutions, national sales organizations and health care providers enjoy a one-stop-shopping experience in order to execute a direct marketing project.
L & D Mail Masters ordered the Truepress Jet520 in a single-engine duplex configuration. A single Truepress Jet520 printing unit handles full-web, single-sided and half-web, double-sided printing. A Lasermax Roll Systems roll feeder, combining an unwinder, cutter and sheet transport unit, will deliver neat paper blocks.
“One of our main criteria in purchasing the new press was the relatively small investment in capital and infrastructure necessary to enter the high-speed color inkjet marketplace,” Fischer said. “We can get the Truepress Jet520 up and running on the pressroom floor quickly without much in the way of structural changes. It will make a huge difference in helping L & D Mail Masters grow to where we want to be compared to the bigger players in the industry.”
