Single Pass Digital Printing Capabilities

Monday 08. October 2012 - Single pass digital printing has become quite advanced over the last few years. Single-pass, drop-on-demand, full color printing systems have emerged to challenge conventional technologies in many sectors. The older technologies required a document to make four passes, one for each color, through the printer. Imagine the savings in time, and wear and tear on the equipment, if this could be done with one single pass.

Screen USA doesn’t rely on old technologies. Instead, we would rather develop our own advanced technologies. This is what we have done to enable some of our inkjet print systems to have the capability to apply all of the colors on one single pass. Our research and development team designed a series of piezo print heads that could do just that, and with photo-quality results.
Let’s take a look at Screen USA’s Single Pass Inkjet Capabilities:
* Truepress Jet L350UV: This innovative inkjet label printing system features single-pass, photo-realistic quality, fast job turnarounds and a stable output. Our industry leading, inkjet label press, can run at 164 feet per minute, and has a printing width of up to 12.6 inches. UV Inks combined with resolutions of 600 x 600 dpi and 600 x 1200 dpi give sharp, well defined images and text.
The Jet350UV provides a wider color gamut than is typical with a four-color process. Our proprietary high-definition inks, and optional white ink, allows for printing on transparent film and metallic foil for greater application diversity. Screen’s automatic printhead cleaning function ensures consistent results.
* The Truepress Jet520ZZ: Our Jet520ZZ is busy doing jobs originally done by offset printing. This single-pass printing, continuous feed inkjet print system is great for such high volume work as direct mail, books, magazines, personalized catalogs, color bank statements, technical manuals and newsletters. Its blistering high speed of 721.7′ per minute, coupled with a max resolution of 720 x 360 dpi, provides a superior-quality job done quickly.
The Jet250ZZ prints on rolls of inkjet paper, standard paper, uncoated paper and coated stock up to 22.4″ wide.
* The Truepress JetSX: Thanks to the reversing mechanism incorporated into the unit, it has the capability to print full color in one single-pass, on both sides of the sheet at the same time. The JetSX provides offset quality to jobs such as: Catalogs, Calendars, Photo Books, Posters, Greeting Cards, and more. It will accommodate coated and uncoated cut sheets up to 20.8″ x 29.1″, and will output at a resolution of 1,440 x 1,440 dpi.
As found in offset presses, the JetSX incorporates the lateral sheet position method, to ensure highly accurate front-to-back registration. Sheets are in proper register from the first sheet, saving time and money on make-ready waste. This unit has the ability to print on standard offset paper without precoating. Our newly developed Truepress Inks dry almost instantly, allowing sheets to move directly to postpress for additional operations. The ultimate in single-pass printing.
