Inkjet & Digital Printing
Screen and Horizon highlight profitable short-run print solutions at October open days
Monday 08. October 2012 - Throughout October, Screen and Horizon will co-present a series of "Take a Closer Look at Digital Print Production" open days highlighting the commercial benefits of combined inkjet printing and short-run binding solutions. The open house events will be held at Screen's Amsterdam Solution Centre.
Screen will showcase printing options ranging from entry-level black and white through to high-speed colour. Highlight demonstrations include the Truepress Jet520EX Mono press making its European debut, and the latest Truepress Jet520ZZ, capable of colour output at up to 220m per minute or 3,500 48 page A4 booklets per hour.
The Truepress Jet520 family of high-speed, quality inkjet presses is perfect for a wide range of publishing needs including black and white books and manuals as well as illustrated colour products. The range of paper that can be used for inkjet production is also increasing and traditional book wove material, as well as a new silk material from CVG that is ideal for direct mail applications, will be shown at the events.
Screen is working with Horizon to demonstrate a complete roll-to-document solution for both saddle-stitched and perfect-bound products. The companies will also explain how a similar approach can also be used for conventional signature production and subsequent sewing and case binding.
“With printers facing a growing demand for smaller print runs, but handling an increasing number of jobs, this is a good time to show print firms a series of solutions that can help them handle this shift in the market,” says Kees Mulder, President, Screen Europe.
