LFP - Large-Format-Printing
Roland DG to join leading suppliers at Print Efficiently 2012 London
Friday 14. September 2012 - Roland's eco-solvent and UV inkjet print & cut technology to star in live multi-discipline demonstrations under the theme: "Make New Technologies Work for You"
The second Print Efficiently event is to take place in October at the IFS showrooms in Perivale, Middlesex. Visitors will be able to see live demonstrations of the latest digital and litho printing technologies and automated finishing systems over a two-week period beginning on 8th October, including Roland DG’s VersaCAMM VS-540 and the VersaUV LEC-330.
Mat Drake, Business Manager – Commercial Print, Roland DG (UK) said: “As a production solution, wide format inkjet is an excellent way to supplement declining commercial print margins and this collaborative event is the perfect place for Roland to demonstrate how easily its wide format inkjet solutions are integrated efficiently into a typical commercial workflow.
“There is simply no more efficient method for producing contour-cut graphics for exhibitions, signage, POS displays or packaging prototypes than integrated print and cut, a concept pioneered by Roland. We’re proud to take our place among other industry leaders at Print Efficiently 2012 and look forward to engaging with visitors and discussing their business requirements in detail.”
VersaCAMM VS-540
The award-winning Roland VS printer/cutter series is the fastest and most versatile VersaCAMM yet. With print speeds up to 23.1m²/hr, integrated print and cut capabilities, superior media handling and unattended printing features, the VS helps printers make more money, faster.
Available in four widths – 64″ (1.62m), 54″ (1.37m), 42″ (1.07m) and 30″ (0.76m) – the affordable VersaCAMM VS series achieves stunning results across applications such as signs, banners, posters, vehicle graphics and wraps, packaging prototypes, exhibition displays, labels, point-of-sale displays and garment decoration heat transfers. For maximum versatility, the VS series comes in four ink configurations, with the option to include innovative metallic and white inks, for luxury and eye-catching effects.
VersaUV LEC-330
As the world’s first UV inkjet printer/cutters, Roland’s award-winning VersaUV LEC printer/cutters led the way in providing design agencies, repro houses, printers and brand owners in the packaging and label markets with a new solution for packaging prototypes/proofs and short-run production of labels.
Great samples are critical to success in packaging prototyping. However conventional methods take considerable time and resources and often result in a “representative” sample rather than an accurate prototype. With the Roland VersaUV LEC printer/cutter users can significantly reduce the time spent on manual prototype production. Plus, the Roland VersaUV can print onto the final stock, resulting in packaging prototypes that are virtually indistinguishable from the real thing.
Roland’s UV curable inks are available in CMYK, white and gloss. Gloss ink can be used to create varnish and emboss effects and white ink enables printing onto clear media and creates colours that stand out on dark stocks.
Software support for the VersaUV comes in the shape of strategic partnerships between Roland and the industry’s leading providers of colour management and proofing software tools for the offset, gravure and flexography industries: GMG, CGI-Oris and EFI.
Print Efficiently combines the expertise of pre-press, press and post-press suppliers who will be on hand to showcase the most efficient production solutions with the latest technology across key sectors of the short-run, commercial printing sectors. Core event partners Kodak, IFS/Horizon and Apex Digital Graphics/Ryobi Partners will be supported by Roland DG, KAS Paper Systems Ltd with mailroom inserting and wrapping machines, PDC (Perfect Document Creation) showing coil binding solutions, and Lake Image Systems with camera verification systems. Shuttleworth Business Systems will demonstrate its MIS solutions and provide the JDF workflow and the paper and substrates partner is Antalis McNaughton.
