ABB at the World Publishing Expo, Frankfurt
Monday 03. September 2012 - ABB, one of the leading suppliers of automation solutions for the newspaper industry, will be using the World Publishing Expo in Frankfurt to launch four completely new developments.
The first is ABB’s new touchscreen-based MPS Control Console, which simplifies the operation of newspaper presses and is available from 2013 for both new installations and retrofit projects.
Secondly, ABB will be presenting its low-cost, offline version of its MPS Cockpit planning and management system for the entire newspaper production process across one or more sites. This new version, named MPS Cockpit Dashboard, provides all the familiar planning functions and allows a subsequent, modular expansion to the full integrated version.
ABB’s third completely new solution is MPS DistributionDataPlanner. This provides a radical simplification of the handling of third-party distribution orders. Distribution data can be imported in almost any format and converted into the necessary structures for all possible forms of distribution and transport.
Finally, the new iPad-based version of the reporting and analysis system, MPS Insight, will also be on show.
In addition, ABB’s team will be on hand to discuss those issues that are the key to success in today’s newspaper production business, in particular the extension of press lifetimes through modular retrofit solutions and the improvement of efficiency through integrated management systems.
