Alpha Colour returns to Heidelberg for CtP and consumables deal
Wednesday 29. August 2012 - Just weeks after making the purchase of a Speedmaster XL 75-4+L four colour and coat press, Alpha Colour Printers has placed another order with Heidelberg. It is to take a Suprasetter A75 CtP device and to centralise all its consumables purchasing with Heidelberg, enabling it to order up inks, plates and chemistry quickly and easily using the Internet-based Online Shop.
Managing director Jeff Williams admits he is sad to bid farewell to his Topsetter which was reliable for over ten years. But the new Suprasetter will give an increased output, 22 rather than 17 plates an hour, and it will be covered by a new service contract which will eliminate any vulnerability in the case of a breakdown.
“We were very happy to come back to Heidelberg, especially as this fits with our CIP 4 prepress to press connectivity,” he says. “Heidelberg consumable costs were very competitive, particularly with the new loyalty bonus scheme at the Online Shop. It is a very easy and convenient way to order consumables.”
Alpha Colour Printers has just secured the Gloucestershire County Council contract for another two years, beating off other European rivals. It has also won a two year contract from Gloucester City Council as they have recently closed their inplant.
This year Alpha Colour Printers has added three new production staff, two in finishing and one in print.
