Nilpeter unveils NEXT: a new concept to drive innovation in label and flexible package printing at Labelexpo Americas 2012

Wednesday 22. August 2012 - At Labelexpo Americas 2012, Chicago, the Danish press manufacturer Nilpeter (stands 3105, 3205) will introduce two new printing presses and unveil a new corporate-wide initiative that intensifies the company's focus on technological innovation and helping label and packaging converters to build competitive advantage.

The initiative, ‘NEXT’, signals the company’s intention to add value by optimizing the packaging-label printing process and generating opportunities for expansion into new markets. As a consequence, the company is strengthening its commitment to research and development as a basis for enhancing the program of FA and FB flexo and MO offset print-converting lines with smarter workflows and a broader palette of configurations.
Peter Eriksen, Nilpeter’s chief operating officer, explains the rationale behind the new initiative: “Faced with the pressures of volatile raw material prices and the trend to shorter runs, label and flexible packaging converters need smarter ways of delivering without compromising quality. We see the challenge becoming greater, as brand owners look for printing partners who have the versatility to offer a broader range of decorative solutions, with the identical look and feel anywhere in the world. Through the NEXT initiative, we are refocusing our resources, people and expertise, to overcome these challenges and support the converter with long-term, competitive advantages. Our commitment is to empower the printer to thrive with lean, streamlined processes, and the creativity to offer unique solutions in an increasingly integrated value chain.”
The NEXT initiative will ensure the company’s perspective permeates all aspects of the Nilpeter operation, and heralds investments in the company’s Customer Care division, technology centers at the Slagelse (Denmark) and Cincinatti (Ohio, USA) factory, and new enhanced customer support set-ups around the globe.
The technology centers provide an innovation hub, where, under supervision from Nilpeter’s technical staff, printers collaborate with brand owners and other value chain partners to develop new products, while having access to a full range of finishing solutions. Jakob Landberg, Nilpeter’s sales and marketing director, comments: “By expanding the technology centers, we are showing our strengthened commitment to driving innovation, a central pillar of the NEXT concept. With accessible, well-equipped facilities, converters have an accelerated, low-risk means of bringing ideas to market, without losing production time or having to invest in dedicated technology to perform trial runs.”
