Today Twixl media launches tablet publishing solution for agencies and the enterprise market:
Thursday 05. July 2012 - Twixl Enterprise Kiosk, a fully independent publishing solution for iPad
Already announced at drupa 2012, Twixl media is proud to officially launch its publishing solution targeting agencies and the enterprise market; Twixl Enterprise Kiosk. Twixl Publisher-enhanced publications as well as PDF documents can now be distributed within a closed environment. Agencies can setup an enterprise-publishing platform for their clients through which they can handle the content management and distribution on top of the creation of media rich, interactive tablet publications. For the enterprise market Twixl Enterprise Kiosk provides an independent tablet-publishing platform through which they can manage and distribute their dedicated tablet publications as well as PDFs.
Both, agencies and enterprises benefit from cost-effective app production from InDesign that Twixl is recognized for already.
Twixl media, is a key player in the market of digital publishing solutions. The company’s core solution, Twixl Publisher was one of the first applications that allowed users to produce iPad applications fully independently – from design to publishing in Apple’s App Store.
After the launch of “the new iPad”, ChangeWave research conducted a survey about the buying intentions of the corporate world. 22% were expecting to buy tablets for their employees, with 84% of those businesses saying they’re planning on purchasing the iPad specifically, while the percentage points for every other manufacturer went down.
“Business adoption of the iPad has been unprecedented, nearly all of the top Fortune 500 companies are actively using iPads”, stated Apple’s CFO Peter Oppenheimer during a quarterly earnings call last January.
The enterprise market is a big emerging market. Companies, from large to small, feel the need to use the iPad to help their sales force and service teams communicate internally and with their clients. They have an immense amount of content available: brochures, product presentations, sales presentations, leaflets, brand magazines, newsletters, technical manuals, etc. All this content could be published on an iPad.
Twixl Enterprise Kiosk is available in two different editions:
Enterprise Kiosk Server
This license allows you to have as many kiosks (domains) as you want on one server. This server will be hosted on your own server, within your existing setup, so there is no limitation in terms of the number of users and there are no bandwidth restrictions.
Enterprise Kiosk Single
This is a hosted solution that provides access to a single kiosk that will be hosted on Twixl media’s servers. The kiosk will be linked to one web domain and can be accessed by 25 named users. There is also a download limit of 100 Gb/month.
Independent
Independent publishing means Twixl media’s clients are 100% in control of their application. They can publish as much as they want without any extra costs. They do not have to publish their content on Twixl media’s servers to create their app; they do this within their own hosting infrastructure. Once the design is ready for publication, they can publish directly to the App Store (public) or within their own Enterprise network (private). Twixl Enterprise Kiosk provides a web-based user privileges back-end that controls access to the content.
Custom development
Integrating a digital publication platform within a corporate environment quite often implies the need to integrate this environment to an existing infrastructure and comes with very specific needs. Twixl media has dedicated in-house developers for custom development, a small but essential part of their corporate market business.
No hidden cost
Twixl media’s pricing is as transparent and easy as their product. They provide their customers a state of the art solution and all the support they need for a basic license fee. From there on, no extra cost to publish is implied, except for the cost of creating the app itself. If a company publishes on its own server they will have no yearly access/subscription fee, no download cost and no licensing cost per publication.
Automatic update notification
All the publications are updatable, but how do users know new publications are available?
On the one hand, the back end administrator of will be able to send a notification to the users, and on the other hand users will get a notification in the Kiosk if an update to a publication is available for download.
