Pitney Bowes Launches DFWorks Version 3.0

Tuesday 22. May 2012 - New Upgrades Drive Job-tracking Integrity and White Paper Factory Efficiency

Pitney Bowes Inc. (NYSE:PBI) today announced it is launching the latest version of its DFWorks Production Workflow software suite – Version 3.0. DFWorks is a portfolio of integrated software solutions that provides the tools to make informed and timely decisions to improve workflow processes and productivity. Version 3.0 of the software introduces a new client tracking module, as well as significant performance improvements, enabling users to realize the full productivity potential of a White Paper Factory environment.
The DFWorks software tracks the status of jobs, documents, postage, machines and operators. This data is presented via the web, allowing verified users on an intranet or the Internet to see how their jobs are performing or to check on the status of an individual document. Production managers and supervisors can see instantly how jobs are progressing against their service level agreements (SLAs).
Version 3.0 software updates include:
Client Job Tracking – White Paper Factory Enablement
With a White Paper Factory approach, production print and mail facilities can combine multiple jobs into a single one to streamline workflow, increase productivity and reduce costs using only plain white paper. The new DFWorks Client Job Module allows users to accurately track individual jobs that have been merged. This enables users to combine jobs to gain greater postal discounts and achieve the economies of scales which can be realized by moving to a continuous print workflow while still having the tools to report back on how each individual job within the merge is progressing.
Enhanced document tracking allows for the tracking of every individual document from the moment it arrives within the workflow process.
Improved Workflow Dashboard
The new production workflow dashboard gives a graphical representation of the status of all work-in-progress jobs and how they are performing against their SLAs. Operators have an intuitive overview of activity, enabling them to make quick production management decisions.
Prestige Scheduler Connector
Forecast information and work-in-progress data is automatically uploaded to a prestige scheduler enabling customers to accurately plan production schedules including resources and asset utilization.
Platform and Performance Enhancements
Enhancements to the platform and performance include:
Windows 2008 Server 64-bit
Oracle 11g
Virtualization
DFWorks version 3.0 will be unveiled at the Pitney Bowes booth at drupa (Hall 4, Stand 4C04), where it will be used to monitor live jobs within Pitney Bowes’s White Paper Factory demonstration.
