Long-Established Print Shop Opts for Speedmaster SX 102 Eight-Color Press at drupa 2012

Görres-Druckerei und Verlag GmbH is investing in a Speedmaster SX 102 eight-color perfecting press from Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (Heidelberg) and will be taking delivery of the press, which is currently on show at drupa 2012. The long-established print shop, which was founded in 1894 and has sites in Koblenz and Neuwied, is greatly valued by its customers for its high quality and exceptional service. “In Heidelberg we see a company that follows exactly the same principles as us and we’ve enjoyed an excellent relationship over many years that contributes to our print shop’s success,” says managing director Marc Spitzlei. Görres is will benefit from the greater efficiency and cost-effectiveness offered by the new Speedmaster SX 102 eight-color press and to continue its growth trajectory. “The Speedmaster SX 102 meets our needs exactly, combining proven technology with innovation. We see this as a secure investment in our future,” adds Spitzlei.
With around 115 employees, Görres can deliver an extensive array of products ranging from flyers, posters, books, and magazines to catalogs, mailings, and packagings for discerning customers in the region and throughout Germany. The full-service print shop is fully equipped with Heidelberg equipment. A new Suprasetter 105 is used in prepress for imaging, the equipment in the pressroom includes a Speedmaster XL 105 five-color press and Speedmaster CD 102 five-color press, both with coating unit, and a Speedmaster SM 74 five-color press. Several Stahlfolder units and Polar cutters are used in postpress. The portfolio will be strengthened this summer by a new Varimatrix 105 CS die cutter. All the machines are linked up via Prinect Integration Manager. “We’re proud of the new machine with its innovative technology and look forward to continuing our successful partnership with Heidelberg,” says Spitzlei.

Heidelberg is using drupa 2012 to showcase the new Speedmaster SX models – the Speedmaster SX 52, SX 74, and SX 102 – which combine the technology of the Speedmaster XL series with proven platforms.
The Speedmaster SX 102 eight-color press is being premiered at drupa 2012 and will then be delivered directly to Görres in Neuwied. This press contains the proven perfecting technology that has over 30,000 loyal users throughout the world. The shorter makeready and throughput times thanks to Prinect Inpress Control and the new fully automatic AutoPlate Pro plate changing system, coupled with the ergonomic operation, set standards in this performance class. Optimized sheet travel, the reinforced side frames of the printing unit, and the cylinder bearings and gripper system from the Speedmaster XL 105 provide the basis for consistently high production speeds.
